any one use this van for wfp? if so how do you find it?

i'm looking 2 buy one monday but see its a 1.4 and this seems a small engine to carry the 600kg pay load it has?

please tell me what you think. i'm also looking at a 2002 berlingo 1.9 would this be better??

I have one with a 300ltr ionic pro 5 fitted. Great van and pulls no problem :) The SL19 has an 800 kg payload not 600 ;)

I have had a 400 litre tank in it and it pulled it fine. The SL17 is 600kg payload but if its a 19 it is 800kg ;)

Looking here... www.whatvan.co.uk/vandata.asp
it seems the 19 = 1900kg gvw  and payload of 800kg
               The 70 = 70 bhp

well i searched what van for renault kangoo and didnt find sl19 dci 70 1.4.
the berlingo i'm looking at is a £900 more exspencive and dont 50000mls more but is in MINT condition. its a real dilemmer. do i go for the higher payload or not? if i buy the kangoo i'll have to wait 2 months for a wfp system because i'll not have the money to buy it strate away.

I have a 2001 kangoo D665- 1.9D (665kg payload) i carry a 400ltr set up + all trad gear too. It cost me 3150 inc vat 4 years ago from auction (well, from a trader who got it from auction) @ 3 years old, previousley owned by a cable company with 66k on the clock. It now has 101k on the clock, is still in excellent condition & has never once let me down. It has only ever cost me routine maintenance (servicing, tyres, brakes etc.) It is now worth at approx 1800 quid, so, 1350 quid for 4 years of motoring is a good deal IMO. ;)

Try to work out how much water you are likely to want for a days work to see if you are better going for the higher payload. IMO go for 800 rather than 600 payload then you could go for a 500l tank.

I know someone with an 800 payload van, took it to a weighbridge with all his gear and empty 650l tank he fitted and only had enough spare capacity for 500l water. No props for him he just didn't fill tank right up.

:) The only thing I have against my Kangoo is,

The back door "stays/door holders" are crap!
I have had to fashion a bar to hold larger door open in winds!

Both my doors were blown open in a moderate/strong wind which did damage to the hinge area
( a bash and a weld later they fit but not perfect!)

Apart from that it a great vehicle!

Also, with it being petrol you could have it converted to LPG, and pay 50p litre for fuel!!!!

Us poor diesel drivers are forced to use chip-fat ;)

its got 1.461cc maybe renault round it up to 1.5 i dont know. i'm not much of an expert on vechaels at all to be honest.

the van tipe id number he has given me is FC07BF cant seem to get much info from that on google or renaults sites as they have upgraded the kangoo range. anyone who owns one reconise this number? can you tell what the payload is from it? the chap cant find it any where in the book.
