I can remember reading this article many moons ago, pre wfp days and never dreamt i would ever get the job.

But after playing a waiting game the job has finally come to me

I didnt get it on price, i got it on ability, there are certain windows wich cant be cleaned by most companies.

There is a viewing platform 4 storeys high which needs cleaning on both sides, the last window cleaner used to climb over the 6 ft viewing screens onto a ledge and use an harness to tie himself on, this practice has now been condemned by the council as you now need a 3 man rescue team present for any possible rescue of the window cleaner.

They approached a few big companies in Cornwall and no one could give them a solution they were looking for, thats where i stepped in with the help of Alex Gardiner we came up with an ingeious solution, with which they gladly accepted my quote.

Photos to follow, remind me later

I could understand if you prefer not to Dave but is there any chance you could describe the rescue procedure?  Perhaps not as some company may copy it and go after your work.

Shiner

I dont know the procedure, just conveying what the building owners said.

I have given them a different solution where no harness work is required, therefor no emergency procedures need putting in place

I should of made this point clearer earlier.

The jist of it was a man cannot use the safety line to tie onto unless there was means of rescue for the window cleaner was put in place, so costing a small fortune.

I can now clean these windows with no risk at all
