A successful buisiness is simply one that survives, one that earns enough to put food on the table, pay the mortgage and put some aside for your pension.

How long on average would it take?
Well there are people posting that have or are achieving it after ten fifteen or twenty years. They see themselves as tremendous success stories, I don't.

There is no avergage though, otherwise we would all be a success and that can't be. I would say within two years of starting from scratch and without buying work. If buying work is allowed then within 6mths of starting.

Anyone not measuring up to this I would fail (in business terms not as a person).
what a load of cr@p grow up

It's not possible for everyone to be a success, but that's the title of the thread. By definition most are average and some fail. It's hard for some people to face being mediocre I know.

Methinks you do protest too much.

maybe you think to much and we very little brains that must be hard ;)

It's alright for you larking about not a care in the world, but i do this for a living and am seriously thinking about going full time at it. Allsorts of ideas have surfaced on this thread, one chap though being popular in the pub and buying drinks was a good idea. Whereas You think brains are holding you back but so long as you are hard working there is no reason you can't be a success.

Set out a business plan,

give yourself realistic targets, which are comfortable to you as an individual.

work hard

build your business with a basic structure in mind, with good planning.

achieve all the things you set out to do, ... your own targets, aim for an income that you have planned to reach . which only you are happy with.... no set figure (as stated on here).....

and you have succeeded.

I was asked what my criteria would be fir judging success and I stated it. Obviously by defintion this is judgemental and excludes people.

As to achieving it firstly you need the work, and then you need to be able to do it, The best and first taste of this for most people will be when they come back off holiday and are behind. If they can achieve the rate then, then they know it is possible.

On a practical level I've found the best things to help are those which make the achievable work faster.

I'm sure everybody on here is a success of one kind or another.

Building strong foundations IMO is the key to any successful business.

don't think that all my posts are boastfull or to get people mad. These are my genuine thoughts. Many people on 52k wouldn't see themselves as that successfull, and if you added in to it that it's a hard physical job with a low percieved status then even more in that kind of income bracket wouldn't be too impressed.

Then theres age, i'm 52, so a guy in his twenties doing this i ..would score above me.(although to be physically capable deserves some credit)

So if someone started at eighteen, hit these targets by twenty, I would say he's on his way to a million. But in real life people buy nice cars instead of investing in their business and a marital break up can knock plans and finances sideways too.

Has anybody achieved max round and earnings in about 2 years, or does it take a bit longer.

Ewan  :)

Don`t listen to some of the bull**** above,it takes a bit longer than a couple of years i`ll tell you that for nothing mate. You might be able to go out and get loads of work in that time but your be my favorite saying at the moment a busy fool, quality takes time to build and there`s no shortcuts.Even when you have loads of work you have to sort the cream from the milk and that takes time on it`s own it can`t be done overnight, lots of WC`s can earn the money mentioned above but it`s the ones that earn it without breaking sweat and are home in time for lunch are the ones you want to listen to.

I have to agree with that one, the lunch time thing maybe not so (but get what you mean) it does take years to build a very good round, it is easy getting customers but getting quality work really is the time factor in it, anyone with money can build a round in a few weeks but have quality takes time.

when I say quality I mean good customers that dont tit pick and are mostly loyal (100% loyal does not happen unless they are family IMO) and the prices are good.

This takes time it really does I have been doing it long enough to know this and I am quite cluded up on this type of thing.

Having spent some time viewing the stats of some members...
I'd say the answer to the original question is simple...

If you have spent over a month in total on this forum in the course of the last two years... you obviously have too much time on your hands!   ;D  ;D  ;D

A whole month, imagine what you could have achieved in that time!  ;)  :-*

It's just a thought! :)
