I looked in my local b&q today and saw the harris pole that Dai uses, it looks great!! and costs less than £15!!!! But before I splash out and part with my cash I wondered if you could tell me Dai what brush you use and how does it attach to the pole? Also have you drilled a hole through the pole to insert the hose? or do you use it with the hose outside the pole?

i use the same pole and its great, ive riveted a vikan adjustable neck to it as its a different thread, i drilled a hole and got the plastic bit at the bottom off so i could put a hose through it

5mtr pole use it on nearly all my work chopped the screw end off mine drill
two holes in pole and attached unger vikan adapter to it ad1 on end and some pvc
tape round for a bit of extra stability and away you go.

using it for two months no probs

I have the same pole but I used it for trad work.
  It works great but  the problem I have now with it is the top clamp threads have stripped so it doesn't lock up and when pressure is applied the top part of the pole starts to slide down.  Something to bear in mind,although I've had about 12 months use from it before this problem

For £15 it has to be worth a go, if it lasts 6 months it is worth it, I have to go there later to see about a sub pump so will have a quick look.

God bless B&Q pole systems suppliers  - what would we do without all their nationally available bits.
 Anyone had a close look at the Wilkinson tools swivel. - just cannot work out how to adapt it. Its in the gardening tools section and swivels differently to anything you have seen.

you get a taper cone that fits them in B&Q you cut half inch of the tip of it, then heat it over a gas stove, until  it starts to melt, very quickly screw into the brush holder, what hapens is it creates a thread, you may have to do it twice, once you screw it in,  run under the cold tap, and then put a screw in to stop it twisting

  well I'm off to B&Q  5m thats  16.4ft double that with the wilkinson tool swivel, a bit of melting, drilling & screwing...I have my second pole.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had a look at one of these poles this morning and was very impressed with it!! It looks a lot better than my predator and that cost me £100!!! I'm off to b&q tomorrow to get one, I just wanted to get a bit of advice before I parted with my hard earned cash!!!! You don't think I'm getting tight do you!!!!?
