First day putting leaflets out
« on: April 26, 2008, 07:42:05 pm »
Been putting leaflets out from 3 till 7 with my son today, got one call from a owner of town house, went round priced it up and got job and just walked through the door and theres a message on my answer phone to go do a quote, so feeling really positive now.

Just spoke to the lady who left message on answer phone, she got 4 bedroom house with conservatory, previous window cleaner charged £10, but he is meant to be 4 weekly but he turns up at 6 weeks sometimes and she hasnt seen him for 8, i explained that before seeing the house my price will be more then this but i will always be reliable, she said access will be through garage which is tidy, this is when i explained that i have a crb certificate and she said that is really good, going round monday to price up job.

I haven't delivered any leaflets since last summer but still getting phone calls. Had one yesterday.
Can't take on any new customers at the moment, got a waiting list. Thats such a lovely feeling.

What are the frames like? give the frame a good hard rub with your finger and then look at your finger. Is there white paint coming off?

Spots are droplets of contaminated water that have dried. If you are sure your water is OK it can only be coming off the frame.

I can never understand why people go to the trouble of paying good money for leaflets, then spend time and energy putting them out and then just sit back and wait.......

I always follow up with a door knock.  If I get a couple of replies before I go knocking, I know there's more to be had.

Compared to just waiting, I get a huge response by knocking, and it's so easy - the leaflet's broken the ice, all you need do is show it and say "I put one of these through your door earlier"

The number of people who will say "I was going to give you a call...." will amaze you.  They were going to, but they never will...people are lazy, you have to do it for them ;D

I agree absolutely.

Leaflets are great for "breaking the ice" and getting your sales pitch over, but there's always MUCH more to be gained from canvassing.
