i clean a pub where every time i go inside for payment i get the remark hes only a window cleaner , i sn****r and smirk to myself thinking if only you knew what its all about then perhaps you wouldnt coment and make snide remarks , how do you put up with snide comments .

Don't think you're being black has much to with it Dave they'd say it anyway. The problem  these days is that everyone in the bar stands up and says "so I am I!"

When we get the new mag going there will be a problem page for this type of thing.

One of my son-in-laws who is a manager of a large building suppliers, was against the fact that his wife wanted to take over her dads w/c business, no matter what she said to him she couldn't convince him it was good pay.

Over the past couple of months she comes out with me as and when she can.

The son-in-law is now doing everything he can to help her in taking over the business? Why? Because she earns more in a day than he doe's.

Sounds harmless. people just say things. Hairdressers say "day off today?" you explain work for yourself etc, three months later back in the chair "day off today then" after about ten years you learn to just say yes as they don't listen to the answer anyway.

Group at the bar, you approach and get paid "It's only the window cleaner." Same thing.

ignore the comment
dump the customer
or agree and shrug it off
defend your self-esteem and awakening their minds with how much you earn and cause jealousy to creep in.

Personally I let it go in one ear and straight out the other as my job is more recession proof than theirs

we know what sort of work you do  we know how hard you work  we know what shhhit you put up   with we know what you earn  we know what kind of man you are   we are you .................as you are us your familly and friends respect you  we respect you  this is what matters not some second rate numptys who are so lazy to get off thir fat arses and p thir lifes away day in day out you my friend are the one who meets new and intereresting  people all day every day makeing  contacts and ejoy your work wyith the warm glow that everything you own is yours brought by you through your own labours and not provided for by a boss or the state you are independent and a truely free soul beholed to none master of your own future  so there oh...........and always leave the engine riunning
