HI guys

Is this van suitable for a 500L tank.

 NISSAN Primastar 1.9dCi SE on a 53 plate

No problems at all. Lots will have at least a 600 litre tank in this type of vehicle it has a payload of just over 1000kg.

I wouldn`t go for any vivaro-primastar-trafic on that reg plate,dodgy gearboxes galore.For that type of van look for the model that has the new euro 4 engine it has a revised engine and gearbox and is more reliable than past ones.

There the newer ones i`m afraid,you will be better off in the long run if you buy an ex demo van,don`t buy a brand new one they`ll charge you £500 delivery fee even if it`s on the fourcourt.Back in a bit,tea time.

yes stay well away we dropped a clanger with one. cost us an arm and leg. that was an 04. got rid

Don't let a couple of people's bad experiences put you off getting what you want.

Hi

I have a nissan primastar on an 03 plate and never had a problem. I think it is the vauxhall and renualt that have the problems.

It`s a joint effort from all 3 companys ie renault-vauxhall-nissan,i loved these vans and then i made the mistake of taking a transporter 174 out for a test drive.

They're all identical.

I've got a Renault.
It's got a Renault engine with lots of Vauxhall parts, and a Nissan gearbox.

It's the best of all 3 makes.

I needed a new gearbox in my 03 Trafic after 39,000 (under warranty).  Now that I know that they have revised the gearboxes, I would buy a newer one though as they are a lovely drive for a van.  I have the 2.9 tonne version.  If I get one of these next time, I would go for the LWB.  Won['t be changing it till October 2010 though as that's when the loan runs to.

How many miles has it done and does the gearbox feel like your dragging a stick through bricks lol,like i say i like the look of them vans but when i test drove 1 although it was brand new the gearbox felt nowhere near as smooth as the transporter.
