I`ve been meaning to ask this to the group for awhile anyway,but this morning
Has finally got me to write.It`s mainly for fishing pole users like myself,well
Sometimes a fishing pole anyway.I`m  falling behind a little on my bi-monthly
Commercial accounts to now nearly up to 12 weeks.Done a load from early
Morning and I``m experiencing brush `lines`and spotting,although all this glass
I do is hydrophobic.I use a flocked Bentley and even at low height second story
(no more than 22feet maximum) I just can`t get any pressure on my pole to give
It some `banjo`for the heavier type soiling and the occasional bird mess.My brush
Bristles were just `resting`and `flicking`the glass.I wished I`d been `geared`up with
My good old Unger Tel-Plus,where I could press on etc.Brush `splay`is important
As Jeff Brimble will testify,then I find there`s not enough bristle.I`m as `badly scalded
As burnt`so to write ! ! Those brushes of Smithy`s look too dense to me,especially with
A fishing pole.Is there more `give`and `splay`with a monofilament brush,cos`I ve never
Used a `mòno`.I would`nt care but 22 feets nothing.How do you `fishing pole`guru`s
Go on,even at low height? Thanks in advance for all comments,help and advice.

P. S. no offence NWH but Isopropanol did`nt make a blind jot of difference.No bubbles,
No sheeting,not shinier,no nothing ! Just wonder if I`ve  not got the right good stuff..

maybe use a heavy brush.  Try a vikan and see if that allows ya to get some splay on the bristles...

Bentleys are poor scrubbers only good for maintenance cleans i find the Addis has more power - but not much. You've either got to scrub a lot more or get Alex's new brush next week. I can splay the Addis with much less pressure.

You using? I`m fairly happy with the Bentley overall,I guess I`m
Asking a question there`s no answer to.I thought Alex`s brushes

Thompson reload fishing pole, yes Alex's superlights are Bentleys, but next week he should have a new one out. I use Bentleys a lot but you can't rely on them for dirty windows as they tend to glide over the dirt sometimes and leave it behind. Like i said i much prefer an Addis mono but that's only my opinion.

These are exactly the issues I have with the bentley type brushes and on a light pole.....everything is just too light if you have real dirty windows to clean.

I keep going back to my ionics monofilament.

Forgot to say I've got a Bentley on an ex-tel 21' glass pole and it works very well with that bit of extra weight behind it. The Bentley doesn't seem to splay that well with really light poles at shorter lengths because of the reasons mentioned. Get your pole up to thirty feet and the extra leverage has it splaying just right.

I am in the midle of indexing some of my replies over on Matts DIY site  , Just brought the topic back up by replying to it   "My Diy bits and Pieces" by Jeff Brimble  scroll down to topic date- Sat Dec 09 2006 to find the new hidden index, where there may be some bits to interest you the link title is "Mono V Flocked"
Basically use the bristles at an upwards angle similar to the pole angle so the bristles scrub on the upstroke (you can only do this with a monofilament that splays. Also think about doing the "flash" rinse on problem windows.

Agree with DJW maintenance cleans only, one hard bird muck you will be the ages trying to remove it. IMO a soft floor brush should be used for sweeping dust from a floor

Whereas a soft vehicle brush should be used for cleaning windows.

as you know i ihave used my RT fishing pole for 6 months, infact i was writing a " fishing pole 6 months on " thread on the DIY forum ( its not finished yet )

i could NOT get on with the bentley brush

so i tried a Vikan, it was too heavy and caused me pain in my neck, so i lightened it a fair bit, its now the same weight as the bentley BUT has all the greatness of the Vikan

a swivel will give you more control, keeping the brush flush with the glass, its that simple, if using a standard angle adaptor at a fixed position, downward motion  will make contact with the glass, upward motion, most bristles leave the glass, especialy at height, a swivel eliminates those problems,

One of the main reasons why these fishing poles are so lightweight is because they're fitted with very lightweight brush heads onto them, which some aren't really up to the job of giving good scrubbing power for bird poo. Fit a heavy type good scrubbing brush on the fishing pole and the characteristics of the pole change.....it becomes too top heavy and bends like mad. If you fit your lightweight brush head onto a heavier bendy/whippy pole you will notice that it becomes less whippy simply because the brush head is less heavy.
I'm surprised no one else has ever noticed these similarities and put up with accepting poor quality brush heads on very useful, lightweight poles.
Doesn't matter what poles I use, preferably telescopic, I always fit a lightweight Ionics gooseneck and a very light Tucker brush head to them, why.......because the pole is never top heavy and I have the advantage of a sturdy pole with a brush with good scrubbing power.

Lewis, the Bentleys are popular because they have been the best compramise so far regarding weight. I've always wanted a Vikan brush with a Bentley stock. Maybe Alex has come up with one. Tuckers always get a good report but a) they are rather pricey and b) i'm unsure of what kind of thread they have. Wayne, can you tell us more?
