STAINGUARDING A 3 MONTH OLD SUITE?

was asked 3 months ago to stainguard a brand new suite for a freind of mine, gave him a good price and heard nothing, saw him 2day and he now says he wants it done 3 months after purchase, he says its had throws over it so not dirty yet, so do i give it a good vaccuum then go ahead and spray or any other advise from you guys would be appreciated. ps havent seen it yet so dont know whether it has any soiling on it yet. over to you. cheers stu

If he had it well covered it may be ok, however any suite in use for three months will most likely need to be cleaned first. You will have to inspect it carefully and point out any degree of soiling to him and get him to agree to any cleaning which you may deem necessary

Hi Stuart

Always advisable after this sort of time to clean it first, any surface contaminants could stop the stain protection from making the correct contact with the material and therefore it may not be as effective as it should be,

cheers guys, apparently he couldnt afford to have it done at the time as his boiler broke down, still havnt had a call from him yet though to book it in, may go down the route of light spray with solution no2 then terry towell then spray protecter..stu (if he calls)

If you are applying a chemical to clean then you will need to rinse prior to any application of a protector
