When limescale is recent, or fairly recent, either a scraper or something such as cillit bang will remove it quite easily.
But when it is etched onto the glass over a period of years or even a few months, a scraper will not remove it, I've not had a go on my windows with the wire wool, but even brick acid doesn't completely remove it. :-\

It becomes burned into the glass, the bond is very powerful.

depends how big and how bad the windows are, really bad etched limescale windows took me about 3-5 mins per 1m squared. but it really would depend how bad they are i guess :-\

Hello Rosa

I always carry some malt vinegar in a 1 ltr pump spray. It has worked every time for me. The downside is the smell.

kind regards

Cleaned a new customers windows today, one of the windows had a lot of limescale on it, the lady said that her previous cleaner couldn't get it off. It took me about 2 minutes to get the window perfect using my SCRAPER!!!!!!!!!  ;D ;)

The easiest and simplist way to remove limescale from any pane of glass is as follows:

purchase a descaler (normally toilet industrial cleaning suppliers will stock it)

wet window with water then put a small amount on a sponge and gently rub in a circular motion, then simply rinse well preferably with warm water.

then applicate and squeegee as normal or use wfp.

lifes easy when you know how ;)

kind regards, Stuart
