What i mean is, if you have a limited supply of water do you automatically scrimp on your rinsing?

Yes I did when I first used my backpack :

Now I have got used to it and know how long it will last and can work quicker with pole and brush I use setting 2 all the time.  Gives a good wash and rince and you tend to work quicker.

i have a static system in my van and i have a backpack. But i never use the van system.
The backpack is much easier for getting access to the backs of houses and it means you can clean in a highly pedestrianised area without the fear of people falling over your hoses!

A backpack is only easier if you have backpack awkward work end of,if you do a lot of estates and terrace houses then it`s probobly quicker,but any house with good access and plenty of window`s don`t kid yourself thinking that a backpack is better than a van mount.

Im 28 and reasonably strong but i still couldnt see myself walking around 20 houses with a back pack on filling the thing up every 5 minutes, i would also feel totally daft!!

Vanmount get to first job turn on varistream and work,backpack get to work lugg 18 heavy ltrs around a house and then go back to van and fill it up again,vanmount turn off varistream drive home put my feet up.Backpack go home fill up all the spare barrels i`m going to need for the next day and then take the batterys in and have to charge them for the next days work,then go to the osteopath for lower back pain due to constantly lifting barrels of water around allday long and this is without having to actually clean the window`s which over the course of the day if you`ve done a lot of work can take it out of you.

I know your exaggerating to make a point, but you really dont waste a lot of time.

With a van system you are wasting a little bit of time every stop reeling in your hose, that adds up. Not to mention finding a good parking space, and moving the van every few houses.

To refill the backpack takes literally about 10 seconds and it takes 25 seconds to walk to the van then 25 seconds back to the house. So you waste about a minute every 20 minutes or so, max. Not a lot of time really.
