Does any body get more than 25% of their total work from their website?

If yes what % and why does it work for you?

Between 60-70% of 'new work' comes from our websites.

Scaled down all other advertising, you need to keep on linking to ensure they remain at the top though.

How many hits do you all get per day and how many emails?

I get between 15 and 40 unique visits a day and rank 2, 3, and 9 for a search of my local area. Website has been up about 2 months and I am going to change it as I'm not happy with it. Also have a couple of others which I put up last week.

Only had a handful of enquiries and 3 or 4 jobs from it. Surprised Pete is getting so much work from his site, is that more the norm?

Re web site business, I get about 10 hits a day and come up on the first page on google yet only get less than 10% of my busines from the inetrnet. Any sensible reasons why that is?( Ashmore dont answer)

Spencer is doing phenomenally well with his site, may be content but also he may be in an area which do use the web more, I can remember Chris Straker saying he did well with his 3 years or more ago so it could be a Southern thing.

I'm doing better than before as I had my site optimised to go up the rankings but I find that web enquiries are bad at booking they seem to want a price and go away, could be price shoppers or just procrastinators.

Steve that looks like about 1500 hits there in under 3 weeks :o how many jobs id you book from that.

Shaun I find the same thing out of the few I get from the net , not many convert to real jobs as they are usually just price shopping.

Same here best traffic to date was monday with 91 hits, get quite a few price shoppers and prob about 20% pf my work comes from net.Either price to high and scare the end of tenancy off or go in too low and scare off the people who understand what we do and what we are worth,Even got comments from the letting agy this week about being expensive ! 734 sq ft wool mix charged 160.knocked off £24 quid as well !
Left my machine in the van previous night was frozen solid when i got to the job had to put it in front of a plinth heater to thaw it out, took an hour to de frost, lucky i didn`t bust the pump as only been in there a month.
What goes around comes around

Two thirds of new work is via web and rest is referrals.............. couple from van and card holders but that depends on ares i have been working in that day/week ................ i get average of 12 emails per week via my site and ecocarpetcare page ...................... half of them allow me to visit and i do get 100% of the ones i survey, must be the charm  ;D

My site is found via Google and many links to other sites, free directories and article links.............. lady from YP would not understand that i do not need to advertise with them or TL as i am having to lie to get time off these days  :o

Hi Guys

I have virtually given up all forms of advertising apart from internet.

While I was away  the lady who has taken calls for me when I am on hols, couldn't believe how busy it was.

London does have an effect as a lot of people contact from work but you will find things spreading out.

Cheers

Hi Paul

Leatherclean gets the most hits although 1st4carpetcleaning generates most work.

I also have sofacleaning, greencarpetcleaning/ers, drycarpetcleaning/ers,plus quite a lot of local sites plus sites covering wider areas, so from the time and money I have invested you can see how much I believe in the internet.

It's like most things in life when you see the success there is an awful lot of unseen work which has gone before which nobody notices.

Cheers

Doug

It kept me ticking over during this quiet month.I get about 2-3 emails a day plus calls from website.

If its an email enquiry without phone no I send one back saying I need to come out and view before giving price normally you don't hear from them again weeds the price-shoppers out

I'm only listed on one directory, do people really use them? I know I don't!

I am ranked high and I''m lucky enough to be in an area where only 2 other carpet cleaners seem to have websites.

Sometimes my page is ranked 1 on Google, other times it drops to 4 or 5 but I have other pages that rank on the first page as well, also have a another website address that ranks 1st page on Google. I rank number one in my area for Yahoo.

I presume that people who search will be searching

'carpet cleaning Dumpsville'
'carpet cleaners in Dumpsville, Dumpshire'
'Dumpsville carpet cleaners'

Is this about right? Have you any idea as to what your highest ranking search is? I would think  it is one of these 3  ???

I'm playing with my websites today, so any help is greatly appreciated  :)

Spencer, you planning to go to CCDO? Would like to talk to you about your site/s. Did Mark Roberts do them for you? (seo I mean)
