practising w/c on my windows
« on: February 18, 2008, 06:15:56 pm »
i have just cleaned the downstairs windows and what a mess they were in. i had been doing diy and splashed pva and plaster and some of it got on the windows. what a job to get it off.

1 thing that i noticed i was not quiet getting all the way to the edges as the squeegee rubber seemed to kind of flex at the end of the channel.

i did seach and found dog ear works for some and not for others.

also what do you use to get the flecks of pva and plaster off with on the glass
if i dont succeed i will try again and again

Do you mean you had a bead of water around the edges of the window? this is what scrim is used for wrap it round 1 finger and wipe around the edge of the window.

or you mean your not cleaning enuf of the window! you just need to practise and practise and practise alot.

to get cement off windows etc you have to use a scraper. make sure you soap up the window lots before u scrap any window leave the soap for a few mins then scrap with your scraper only one way then lift of and start from were you started dont go mad back and forth you can scratch the glass.
