On friday i decorated the front of my house with a few rope lights and things (if your lights flicker at about 4pm every night it is mine getting switched on

)
anyway that night i tried to go onto the internet to check mail and look on here but i kept getting the message "no dial tone" this carried on after several reboots so i decided to call tiscali helpline to see if there was any problems after speaking to a chap in the far east for 40 mins he decided to do a line check and this seemed ok so i was left with a computer that wouldnt connect to the internet.

I again tried to connect in the morning and everything was ok

now tonight i had the same problem it wouldnt connect again after 4 pm it kept saying "no dial tone" i was begining to think that it was after all a line problem
wifey says "computer wont connect" while i was in the bath so i started thinking............

ADSL broadband used the copper insulator on a phone line to get the broadband signal thru and as the problems started since i put my lights up on the front of our house i told her to turn them off and try to connect.....IT WORKED so i would presume that when my xmas lights are switched on the current going thru the wires is interfering with my broadband signal going thru the wire from my eaves to my BT box downstairs (they are quite close) on the front of my house hence when the lights are switched off no current is going thru and connection works
Has anybody else got any experience of this?
