Can't think what it can be, can only understand how cheesed off you feel though. Doubt its a virus or your connection, bet it is something really simple and obvious!!
There are a few good web guys on here, someone will know soon enough. Don't forget to spell check and proof read  ;).

Don't envy the job you do, did a 'House of Horrors' type job last year, never again, I'm too much of a whimp.

There can't be anything wrong with your website, Myvanwi can see it and she isn't even on this planet.

we've been carrying this out for 20 odd years we did some training at BICSc and National flood school, we've also got friends that have carried this out in the states for longer than us and it's an on going learning process and alot of it's to do with health and safety and the pictures are pretty timid to some of the work that we do

I do know what is involved and someone has to do it, I was just interested in specific training required besides the usual health and safety, disposal procedures etc. Thanks for your reply.

Richie,

It's nothing to do with BT Broadband and you haven't got a virus. It's more than likely to be caused by browsers not displaying your pages correctly due to bad coding within the Office Live application.

This is what I see:

Internet Explorer

Home page - looks ok, but a big gap between the wording 'Emergency Response' and your address.
Needle stick - OK, but wording under and above pictures is not aligned correctly. Links run off end of page.
Fire damage - Two sizes of font in wording. Big gap after 24 hour telephone number.

Firefox

Home page - Font sizes incorrect. Large text should be small and vice versa. Logos and address details completely messed up.
Needle stick - looks fine, but links appear between text and images. Doesn't look right.
Fire damage - Two sizes of font in wording. Big gap after 24 hour telephone number.

If I were you, I would use a different package to design your site, or get someone to do it for you. If you make that site 'live' it will make your company appear amateurish. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's the impression I got.

Hope that helps - ALAN.

Hi Alan
thanks for your reply, i don't find this harsh at all, it's what we needed to know, we've actually got an advertising plan in conjunction with the site ready to go out within the next few days so changing to a different package is going to be a bit difficult and financially costly, surely this being a microsoft site (reputable) could it just need tweeking of some sort that i haven't realised, would appreciate any advice
Thanks
Richie

chris browne no the wordings are not jpg as far as i'm aware just the pictures

Richie,

I've never used Office Live, so I don't know how it works. Do you have your own webspace that you can upload to?

Just had a look at the code in Dreamweaver and it's very bloated and full of rubbish that Office Live has added. I tried to clean up the home page and Dreamweaver gave up!

ALAN.

Dreamweaver is a website design tool that I use to create my websites. There is an option in there to clean up the html coding and it couldn't cope with the code that Office Live produced. I have never come across that before.

I know you won't want to hear this, but I would not use Office Live to produce a website for a professional company. On their site thay say:

Microsoft Office Live Small Business makes it easy to create a professional-looking, custom Web site for your business.

What they actual mean is

Microsoft Office Live Small Business makes it easy to create a  Web site.
