Hi,

will be purchasing a 100 psi soon,

But at the moment i have simply took my 40 psi from a backpack and installed it in the van, that way i still can use the 4 flow settings.

but now its very noisy , is it on the way out...?

it hardly pumps on number one and too where its fairly quiet, so i use 3 , ample water but noisy .


Also will i need a varistream with a 100 psi,? as all i hear is people complaining really,

what other ways are there to control water flow,

i have a pole tap.

Some will say no but i would get a varistream with a shurflo pump.

if your using the 40psi pump in the van with a long hose reel that could be why its not working very well.
I have just got a 100psi shurflo and digi varistream to use with 100m minibore - i have changed to minibore, so this will work well. Though i previously had the same pump with 100m 6mm.

some use a varistream with the pump in the van, with a flow valve on the end of the hose, so they work together, works well for me.

Good thing about the varistream and ECO-FLO is that you don`t use the switch on the pump,combined with minibore it works like a dream.

As you know i got the pump + vari last week, i was beggining to get a bit peed off as i thought the purpose of the vari' was to give a constant flow at any height & it wasn't. anyway, didn't realize till end of today i had a leak in the system & hosereel so put it down to this. Now this is fixed i'll report back with my oppinoin tomorrow if it would help.

I also have had a varistream and 100 psi pump for about 2 weeks.   Not too impressed withthe way the water at the end of the pole rose and fell withthe pump coming on and off.  Anyway.  had 2 poles working from it today and it was tops.    must have had a leak somewhere cos moved me hoses around abit too and with 1 pole on the go it was pressure tastic.   

It seems to save battery power too.

Does the pressure switch work and does the pump keep going when you turn off the water?

If so then they are exactly the symptoms I had in the pump I have just replaced!

And OH Yes....it's worn out mate.  They don't like being put under strain.  Remember it only 40psi.  Bit like putting a 1000ltr IBC in a Reliant Robin

yes i think varistream and 100 psi are my next purchase.

and yes it does run when i stop the water, but i dont know what a pressure switch is lol.....

so i think its working but getting ready for the scrappers.

varistream & shuflo are great together i dont no about new varistream but the dial one once teething problems were sorted i couldnt fault it.

Better today now leaks fixed, it is slow to alter flow rate when changing height though but it does eventualy catch up.
I've read about pressure problems with these things in the past, i can't understand why, i can't have mine above setting 1 or it just blasts out. settings go from 0 to 9. setting 0- just a tad too slow, setting 1- just a tad too much.
I would consider the ready made pump box gazza.

If you have a strainer it make the varistream and pump perform completley different,i took it off and used it how i did before it performed terrible with the strainer fittted.

There is a new type strainer fitted to the cleantech ones dude. not the same as the others used to be.

If it`s the plastic 1 with the wing nut screw it`s the one i`m on about,they really mess about with the flowrate by this i mean you have to turn the varistream up a lot higher to get a good amount at the brush.If a pump lasts 2 years you`ve had your moneys worth out of it anyway,i don`t bother with a strainer.

Like i said, i can only use it at setting 1 cos' otherwise it'd blow mi brush off. no flow rate probs at the brush end here dude.

what are the sizes of the out and inlets of the 100 psi.... 40 psi is half inch

You can get reducers for the in and outlets on the pump if you need to.
