Hand tool upside down from rug itself ............... L shape towards rug so it sucks tassles into tool.
Then lay flat to rug and slowly move down tassle away from rug to end.
Agitating is caused within tool and 2nd move causes squeegie effect ........ without snap back at the end, that causes twisting.

I have seen JB using his corks to great effect, Chris has the right method, although I have had great success with white vinegar

What chemicals do you all use on the fringes to make them nice and white.

If you use the wrong solution they go brown.
Then there is the question do you want them white or cream
Often they are twisted when you get them and rotten.
I use white vingar but again do you use it mixed ot neat JB once felt it was too strong neat,

Don't forget to clean both sides of the fringe.
Obviously when dealing with fringes you will really need to take the rug away to clean.
White vinegar is just the ticket. The smell goes once it's dryed out. It really does improve matters considerably.
