what is commonly used by all of you on here. I know glass fibre can be cheap and if looked after well it will last. Carbon fibre well i know how good it is for other applications so i guess this is the best of the lot. Metal style i am unsure about.

i used a unger ali 3 X 2 M pole for a very long time, it was great and i dont think i will ever get a bit of kit that will repay me in terms of use

x-tel pole to start with, cheap works and if you bang it about it is cheap to replace.

There are a wealth of poles to choose from ali, glass, carbon, etc totally depends on the work you have and the height you need to go at

eg. all lot of guys use 18ft extender type poles for day to day domestic work. they last about 6+ months before they are binned -  but they only cost around 80 quid which works out at around 4 quid a week!

DITTO ................cut a foot off each section and it's about the right length for most standard houses.

If you need to go 30ft + then carbon fibre is the way

I started with an unger 3x2 as did a lot of us. I still have one and use it regularly. But once you have had an X-tel (names vary according to who sells it) you will see what a difference there is and how much better it is to use.
