Good start to the year for me ! just booked a comercial job 2856 sq ft £707 think it will take me 6 or 7 hours .Been having probs getting the com jobs as had always knocked money off to try and get them booked,but after thinking it just comes out of their tax at the end of the year i stopped knocking money off and am now turning  more of my quotes into jobs.
Been too quiet recently only just started booking work since xmas

Well done Mark my first sizable commercial job was around the £700 mark, but it took me an exhausting 19 hours.

That was a long time ago. If it was today, I'd use a rotary system which would take about 5 hours

Prochem S2000 powermax ,prespray gold,fibre and fabric rinse it`s the standard blue cord polly.This year i am going to invest in a low rpm rotary was so impressed with the bonet buffing tecnique that was demo`d on my training.Last year i quoted .75p per sq metre on a huge job 300 sq metre i should have said £2.75 per sq metre i still did the job it took me 8 hours i got over £400. for it ,it should have been around £1200 odd.
Did it to teach myself a lesson for getting my no`s wrong won`t make that mistake again.

Well done Mark. Nice to hear a bit of good news. If you know a young fit guy who could do with a bit of cash you'll probably find you can do that in 4 hours with a labourer but if your like me you'll do it yourself and keep every penny as you don't know when next one will come.

Well i am not that young or fit really  .But i am a bit of a perfectionist though and would rather spend an extra couple of hours making sure it`s 100% ,job came from a customer i did last may their house, so don`t wanna scrimp on the cleaning as i have a reputation to uphold.
Cheers for the input peeps.The thing that has put me off bonnet buffing is the fact that there is loads of office furniture etc so would be a mare working around it all with the machine,Guy`s that do use them how do you manage ?

Hi Mark,
 Not sure your choice of chemicals is right for this type of job, i would use ultrapac renovate and extract with double clean, you will see the difference

Well it took me 7 hours from start to finish customer was overjoyed with the result....Ultra pac renovate is that not for really bad draught marks and soot damage etc ?

I have double clean on the van but i only use that for no hope carpets really pubs kitchens etc !
it was nearly 3000 sq ft and faffing around trying to dissolve d/clean i filled my machine about 6 times !

Hey you got it done in your estimated time.

Ultrapac is a liquid so no trying to disolve powder.
For draught marks and soot as you say but also for normal soiled and heavy soiled carpets.
Is applied by sprayer, shortish dwell time - 2 to 5 min.
Fibre & Fabris Rinse to be used.

Mark, I not mentioned polyprop, had a quick look thro all the post and cannot see it mentioned (might have missed it).
and I did'nt write the instructions on the "tin".

Just checked and cant see anything mentioning the fabric and fibre rinse you suggest, they may well have changed the label. I have always used double clean on commercial carpet tiles and polyprop and never had a problem.

Always use formula 90 in the rinse tank for most jobs even on wool carpets i just put a bit less in.On most of the jobs i do i would be there all day if i was rinsing with fibre and fabric rinse.

No you're not missing anything. The book answer to using an alkaline is to rinse with an acid. That way you leave the carpet neutral and doesn't resoil so quick.

I dont belive that rinsing with f90 will resoil any quicker than with fibre and fabric just my opinion.

so let me get this right, is double clean not designed to clean heavily soiled commercial carpets, im sure during my training many years ago that we were told that polyprop and nylon fibres could be left safe between ph 6-10. I may be wrong but this is the method i have always used and never had any problems or complaints regarding re-soiling. I always rinse with fabric & Fibre on wool and woolmix carpets by the way before someone lynches me.
