I'm not being funny, and before everyone says that mods have a hard time of it, this is a classic example where the mods should have stepped in and deleted the 'logo' posts when they started.

How about keeping threads on topic in this forum?  One of the HUGE difficulties in using this forum is the wandering-off of topics where mods should take a more proactive role rather than just jumping in and locking a topic.

The endless babble/off topic chit chat puts people off reading entire threads, when the whole ship needs to be run more tightly.

Whilst the original topic (saving £1000s) might have been slighly tongue-in-cheek, there is a serious side to this (bouncing windows, or even doing a bit extra - garage doors etc for free, for example).

As it is, by not gettign rid of the windup posts, we have lost the whole meaning of the original post.

I call that weak management, not strong.

Just my 2 cents.

Sigh, by the time I'd looked at the original post it had dozens of pointless replies, it takes forever to delete them :-\

also, it really was only a 'fun' tongue in cheek post, it had no real direction  and for that very real reason it was locked....much as this one will be. Not That this is a tongue in cheek one!

Feel free to post a sensible topic on the question you raise, it is certainly a valid one.

This is topic is only likely to raise argument about the policing of the forum by us mods, thats cool I guess, so we shall let it run for a while and see where it goes...unless Trevor or admin step in and decide otherwise that is!

see?  There you go off topic!

No unfair criticism of mods was intended, I think you know that, Iam.  It's an observation on how random it can get on here.   Look around other forums and you'll see how strict they are on keeping stuff in line.

Jeff, I think that being a mod must absorb a great deal of time, and skill, and I suspect that both are lacking - it's not a paid job, but I don't think it has to be, imo.

Using my prerogerative, I'm locking the thread, becasue deleting would be an act of crass censorship worthy of Stalin.

Shame.
