Leaflets will work you need to keep dropping them even during your busy periods, it seems as if cc's on here are either really quiet or really busy, is this because they only market there company when they are quiet?
Then they get busy and stop the marketing then go quiet again.
We post leaflets every month choose how busy we are and we never seem to have these quite patches.
I wouldnt worry about the Chem dry's and the like, we all have these local if anything i think they have made the business better for all of us especially price wise.
I have sent you an e-mail with some letters that i send out to letting agents, landlords, nursing homes etc and a copy of our leaflet which we have great success with. Please feel free to change the personal details ang give them a try.

All the best for 2008 hope it picks up Mark ;)

Nice of you to let john use your leaflet mark.

I could also do with some more work at times as it can be quiet here.
Have to say that although spending more on Yellow pages ad this time around has not done very well, in fact not even paid for itself after 8 months.
I have advertised in various other publications in previous years which have all proven to be a dead loss.
In 2008 I shall make quite a few new changes which will include having leaflets printed up, either Dp or Print Carrier (yet to decide which) and either making enquiries or advertising for someone else to deliver for me.
Up to now (4 years on) I have yet to try the mass leaflet aproach.
Wish I had done this in 2007, but better late than never.

You seem to be pretty well connected with the CCing business, having first tested it out alongside an employment elsewhere.  Perhaps re-forming the employment plus self-employment career will be favourable, since IMO you will be very dissappointed if you return to full employment by others.  Was there anything distinctly different that you were doing during the initial (2 job) phase that you are not doing so well now, perhaps because you feel that you have more to loose when working on your own ?  The reason I would encourage you to search your thoughts more is because you obviously felt secure enough to enter into self employment full time.  Nonetheless, do ensure that you increase the marketing effort in line with the forum colleagues suggestions.

I hope 2008 is a good year for you, and all CCers.

Regards

Pete (JS2)
