I posted a little while ago about how clean pure water washed panes staid. Went to collect and a customer says "when are you coming again? only they are so dirty from the rain i can hardly see out of them" So she wants them done again next week. Thats two and a half weeks between cleans. ::) My own windows have not been done for ten weeks now and they look pretty good.

I've noticed over the past week or so with the last few bouts of rain that the windows have been really dirty.  Must be something in the rain.  Normally when I come to do them again they are still clean, but not at the moment.

Regarding your clean windows, maybe different types of glass attract the dirt like some windows attract water.

Rain alone won't make the windows dirty, but if it is horizontal rain lashing against a wall and then running down onto windows, it will carry debris from the wall. Windy rainy weather will pick up ground matters and "throw" them around ;D

I am hoping your are cleaning all of the frame and not leaving the top like so many do, as this could be a problem  :-\

As Helen says, rain alone not a problem, stick wind into the mix and you will get mucky windows  :-\
Also, it depends on the individual house, and it's location to main roads or lots of hedges, trees and shrubbery.
Traffic throws up loads of muck, and wind through trees and the like also does the same.
And of course the position of a house in relation to others affects the way in which the wind will swirl around it.
So some places will get dirty faster than others...

Properties that have trailing plants like ivy are a nightmare, they hold all sorts of muck and when the rain hits them down it comes ;D Bear that in mond for WFP use as well, ask the custie to trim back often ;)

have to have an open mind when considering this.............

my observation has been:

pure, happy, wholesome people with fine qualaties tend to have cleaner glass
after 1 month or whatever time
the dirt does not stick to them as people   does not stick to the glass

bad sort of people their glass usually and noticably dirtier

its my observation   there may also be a distorted perception on my part

anyone else notice the same   or is it signs of madness?

Only reason I said that is coz a customer last week said "are you coming again before christmas", I told her no as 4 weeks will be the christmas week itself, she said " well come the week before and leave the next clean for 5 weeks"
ha ha customers, don't you just luv em ::)

Helen and members as regards rainwater messing up the window glass.
With steady rain after about 20 minutes or half an hour or so,the rain
That’s falling could be as low as 000ppm,I know it is in certain parts of
The country.I live and work in the grimey north of England and I`ve
Caught rainwater as low as 2ppm.While it`s raining after half an hour
Then hope it rains all day! ! ! ! just go around with your Bentley your
Vikan your double trim Tucker or whatever brush ya use and bingo,
Wev`e all of us `cracked it`.Just brush away and the rain does the rest !
Money for old rope.Is this right or am I writing a load of old twaddle? ?

Thats brilliant Lewis that means we just have to work in the rain, no tank, hose - just waterproofs. :)

To get enough flow on the window from rain it would be like working on the bridge of a ship in a gale.

Glad ya can `see where I`m coming from` Davew.Obviously there`s many
Drawbacks working like this but on a wet windy day where it stays wet and
Windy all day,,,,,,like I wrote,,,,,,,,,Something to think about perhaps,there
Again perhaps not ! The main problem are ya `custies` coming out raising
Merry hell working in lousy weather. It`s true ya know, think about it.Belting
Down all day, brushing away with rainwater at 000ppm.Who needs RO`s and
Resin ? Come off it,it`s twaddle,,,,,,or is it ? ?
