Michael, yep MF I think stands for Massey Ferguson.
but Geoff only fitted this one because he's a cheapskate and this silencer was just in my shed so he got it for free
I would fit a bigger one, I use a DAF truck silencer which has 3 inch inlet & outlet, much quieter
you can get a 2.5inch twin exhaust connection which is used on a motor bike which goes from 2.5inch into 2 x 1.5inch ports. if you use this you can run radiator hose to 2 separate car exhausts in parallel, which will make your machine nice and quiet without restricting the air flow

Mike I used to think Davey Ingram had all the short cuts and tricks, but you seem to be experimenting the most out of every one these days
you must have more time these days

Dave I'm using a diesel-petrol-electric hybred at the moment
diesel burner, 18hp kholer turning a 56 blower @ 1750rpm and a electric motor driving that Hypro pump you gave me years ago. works a dream

Got to tell you lads driving to the office every day past all those farm sheds on my way to Reading, made me realise it ain't the same working with the state of the art equipment. You carn't beat going to work with a roll of Duck tape and a ball of string not to mention a wing and a prayer.
Those were the days when you fired up your machine and bits flew off never to be found again, never knowing if you'd finish the day in one peice. But hey I sold that machine a few years ago.

Mike the Hypro pump runs at 1750 RPM so why not run it of the Blower pulley? She takes over 70 deg temp so over heating will not be a problem

wrong fitting, it doesnt have a shaft to fit a pulley, its the type to fit onto an electric motor. and I knew I'd need 240v electric to power the burner, so though I might as well use it.
I've carried it all ready to use on the van for about 4 years, just in case my truckmount pump belt snapped on a job.

Hate to use the name Woodbridge but they use inverters to power the burners on their old machines 12volt to 240volt units
I know what you mean about the water pump shaft it has a sleave that the shaft of the motor fits into.
