Hello!!

Its Emma, Squeakys other half.

I was just wondering how asking for some advice on what 'details' ie. phone number, services, to put on the design gave you reason to slate the logo etc that rog was really happy with??!!

I personally think that the duck is fab and so do friends, family and customers!!  Its bright and eye catching so people won't forget it, yet its done in a way that looks professional and not like a cowboy!!  IMO its much better to have a logo for people to remember and look for than just some plain boring writing that will blend into the background and  people will forget easily.

There were many reasons why rog was unsure about the land line, my main concern was that there is nobody home four days a week and when there is very often our five year old daughter will answer - which in my eyes is far less professional than not having it there in the first place!!

And yes rog may look up to and listen to ians ideas - but why the hell not?? He and his business is in a a position that rog would like to be in himself.  Ian is also from chepstow and has much experience in chepstow so has valid advice for him.

Thanks tho to the people who have given useful advice and ideas its really appreciated!!

Emma

PS - By the way those of you having a moan about the duck design, i just think your jealous for not thinking of it first!!!

Emma

All the posts here are in good faith and we are just sharing opinions, Roger has certainly had his opinions about a lot of subjects and that is a fact.

Dont get too wound up , everyone here thinks highly of Rog, and the negative comments are all part of this forum.

without the negative comments my business would not be where it is today, instead of struggling to pay £500 tax bills.

Dont take it so personal.

Dave

p.s. jealous of a duck , i dont think so, teddy bears are so much more with it, ducks are so last year lol

Emma, I thought duck was good, I design things aswell as window clean, it is eye catching , everyone have an opinion on here and people will like or dislike, it is what will work for Rog (speaky) that counts in any of this. I too have kids around the same age as your little one it does not sound good if they answered the phone domestic work is ok, if going commercial would be a big no no IMO, I have mobile on side of van as of weds I do have a website aswell though with gives more details.

and good on you girl for coming face to face (should i say text to text) with all the guys on here, hope none are rude. Squeaks step in the right direction m8, duck works if you can wait till thursdAY FOR DESIGN i CAN EMAIL YOU MINE, MINE IS BOLD ASWELL  ;) I mean for the back half of van maybe you could take a little from it.

Emma he does give as good as he gets.

And Dave lol at teddy bears, it is now POWER RANGERS GET get with it  ;D lol

No offence meant with the van pic.
I did reply to rog earlier and I think he even noted it with a reply.  I guess that i was just trying to have the quack crack.
Soz emma / rog if you took it any other way than it was intended.  Like I said earlier, not my cup of tea but if you are happy with it, why worry about what I or anyone else think.

The proof is in the pudding, & rog isn't eating any pudding.
Personaly i wouldn't even have the van written if i was in your position, there are far better & quicker ways of creating new work.
If the van writing fails what are you going to do then? ask Ian?
Like i said, looking up to Ian has got you nowhere so far, i'd be changing strategy pretty sharpish if i was loosing work at the rate rog is.
I'm not being rude with this either. ;)

Why give him false hope in the first place? to be popular? that's only selfish!
What happened to all the people that told him he'd be mega rich by now?
Yeah, go on, buy a big van, you'll need it with all the work you're gonna get once you're wfp.
Telling him he'd be turning work down he'd have so much, 250 quid per half day etc.etc.
It's selfish b&&&&hit that's got him here in the first place. ::)

Tony,

If it wasn't for listening to Ian then Rog would still be slogging away up a ladder earning 40% less!!

Was just wondering how you manage to keep your customers with that attitude??!!

Cheers guys (Rog again by the way ::)) ;D
I'm alright with the current duck thanks, I rather like him.

We'll see what happens in the coming months, but I reckon I'll be glad I did it.

Christ, I only started this thread to see if anyone could help with what else I should put on the van. ;D

So...fascias, and conservatories it is then...?

Hi Emma
I'm not trying to be harsh or negative, i think rog is a good, honest person trying to do the right thing but i think he has been given lots of missleading advice on here in the past, which, like i say i think is selfish. popular with my posts i may not be but truthfull i am. ;)
