Phoned a custy tonight for access tomorrow and she said my system has scratched her patio window. I asked if the scratches were in the same direction and she said no all different directions in the top corner. The only thing I can think is that a spiders web is stuck to the glass. Find out tomorrow.

Davew , If the scratches are all in one corner and the windows are fairly new then Its probably from the builders clean when they removed the sticker with a scraper,

Do you advertise 'Fully Insured'?
If so they might just be waiting for you to replace their glass.
We had one such customer last year.
We paid out £240 after getting insurance assessor involved and the custy had full legal cost cover, etc.
We never admitted liability. It was Anglian that caused minute scratches in transiting the glass for his recent double glazing.
If we claimed on our insrance the policy would rise next time round more than the £240 because our business is constantly growing. We were Catch 22.
This custy planned the lot.
Since then we have disclaimers all over our quotes and comprehensive terms and conditions. Certainly don't promote fully insured anymore.
I vowed it would never happen again.

Christie`s when you say your customer had full legal cost cover,am I correct
In saying that if it went to court they could recover any expenses by themselves
Even if the hearing went against them and lost? If so,does it include to be able
To claim lost salary and wage time thru` the time attending court? That part perhaps
You would`nt know.This type of occurance used to happen to me when I was carpet
And furniture cleaning in the 80`s.I had to pay up every time.

How would you get around the wording that's usually associated with public liability insurance for window cleaners... "Excludes the window you are working on"? If that's tha case they wont pay out anyway as you must have been working on it to scratch it

Had a look today before I cleaned and she is right there are scratches. There is no way I could do them with a superlight brush. Has to have been a scraper from a builders clean that no-one has noticed before including me. I'm not mentioning insurance. Besides she could use her own if she is that fussy. I've been cleaning this one for about six months.
