I have been today for a meeting with a hotel in manchester city centre they got in touch with me to quote for the external and internal windows.

It is a huge job and was there 2 hours a lone writing things down taking photos and trying to get my head round the rota ie theres is daily weekly and monthly bits.

This hotel is 11 storeys and the outsides can be done by vraddle(something iv never done b4) and will be very lucrative if  i get i think but how do you go about pricing for a job of this scale??

I mean the daily eork is only 30 min but every day is a big commitment.

Sub the daily 30 mins unless you can add the money onto the big clean.

Work out an hourly rat and go from there.

Ask how long the last cleaners took etc, i would also ask what they paid last time.

dont you think asking how long it takes and how much they charged sounds un proffesional??

ronnie another thing to think about before you put any price in

is what your public liability insurance is going to go up cus of the

cradle work and height ect, we gave a job up because of the

increase in the insurance was alot more than the job was worth,

i will need new insurance but this is a really ruff idea but the job will be worth around £20,000 £30,000 a year.

If they have all the info to hand, why not ask them.

I wouldnt say it sounds unprofessional, i ask all the time and i have lots of good work.

It all depends how you hit it off with the guy showing you around, most are pleased to help make your quote easier.

iv already walked around but i may need another go its massive 284 rooms a bar a cafe and restaraunt.

there is that many different jobs being done daily weekly and monthly i dont think theyu could tell me the time but they may be happy to tell me the present price.

i had loads of biggies but they tied me up so much that it started affecting my other work so i dropped them,& am no worse off financially

if i get it and its a big if i may regret it well then i drop it but if it works out im on my way forward, all i got o do is do method statemnets riskassessments for all the different parts and than get a competitive price together
