I'm looking for somewhere to purchase 10 litre dust bags for my Vax VCC-01.



I've found them at Screwfix for £5.99 for 10, but the delivery charge is almost the same again.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy them from?

Why not try your local vacuum shop or high street electrical retailer? These Vax bags are the same as the one they were using almost 20 years ago -they've never changed in all that time (its the same bag as the wet/dry Vax) and they are not hard to find on the high street.

As a topic of conversation, what made you buy this nex Vax model instead of a Henry etc?

We bought four Vax at the Cleaning Exhibition at the NEC in March. They were so new that there wasn't any in the country at the time.

We got two VCC-01s with a VCU-02 upright thrown in on a 3 for 2 deal. They also sold us a Vax Pro domestic cleaner at cost to see us through until the new ones were available in May.

We got ALL FOUR for £240, which I think is an incredible bargain.

Incidentally, I've found a Screwfix in Derby that I can get the dust bags from, saving the despatch costs.

yes thats a good deal, they didnt offer me quite that kind of discount when i showed a slight interest in the VCU-02 upright and The Cleaning Show. It was "3 for 3" allegedly, but at £300 (alleged price £150 each with one free) i thought that was a lot of money. I dont think that upright is 'worth' £100 but that said i did like it. I only needed one in any case.

How are you finding it? And does the paper dust bag sit on securley? That was my biggest worry -and when the demonstarter unzipped the cloth bag the paper bag was indeed hanging off. It didnt inspire me

Only just started using the upright as I have been using the cylinders. However, I've found that the upright is better for offices as it is easier to manoeuvre between the desks.

Not really had a problem with the bags as I get the wife to change them.

The upright is a dirty-fan cleaner which means all the debris hits the spinning fan before it reaches the bag. I had an electrolux like this and it hated being used in the office i cleaned as it could not cope with paperclips etc. How do you find the Vax?

When i mentioned the bag on the upright, this wasnt in relation to how easily it could be changed, what i mean was i had worries about it falling off when in use.

You have a nice website but (and i quote) you say " we will finish our visit with a little extra that other companies haven't even thought about". Dare i even ask what that is......?

The only problem I have had with the upright is that if you pick it up by the top of the machine, rather than by the proper handle, the two halves of the machine can become disconnected. Bit scary when it first happens with the machine switched on as all the dust blows straight up into your face. Soon screws back together though.

Must alter that wording on the website. Originally, we were going to leave all our new customers with a little gift when we finished each clean. We started off leaving a small box of chocolates, a silk flower, a bunch of flowers, but eventually we dropped the idea as it was proving to be too costly.

Glad you like the website - that's another string I have to my bow.

Yes gifts can prove costly and i know that they can have a ngative effect on those people who think "is THAT waht i'm paying for" lol. That said, i ahve been known to give the odd bunch of flowers to a regular client.
