Saw something like that at the Cleaning show, it was a short demo pole they used, now which stand was it hmm maybe Tucker - no hmm not Brodex, not Ionics  ohh I give up. Who was it ???? hmm not excel damm forgotten.  ???
It seemed too heavy to me because of the short sections and the clamps taking up a lot of the weight.

Tony at Essentially Pure cut a 34ft hybrid down so it was about 22-23ft extended,it is so short closed that if you do normal size domestic the majority of the time it`s the only pole you`ll need for up and down.I have a 24ft carbon facelift and to be honest the hybrid felt more balanced after being cut down, the thing is the hybrid when the sections are shorter it becomes a true up and downstairs pole in one.

it weighs 3.0kg and costs £1500, but it isnt made for window cleaning, it is made for placing hooks at the tops of buildings to drop ropes and ladders for the military or s.a.s to sneak in. This pole is over engineered for the job of window cleaning, it has polyamide joints. It is made by olumpia triumph. I got there catalogue off them 4 months back and offered them free consultation if they ever wanted to enter the wfp world. In return I would get the finished article!

http://www.olympia-triumph.co.uk/

this is the type of company that also makes the poles for ionics and brodex, they supply tools for the military and they even have a 20m pole that needs no extending but instead you wind it up!

above: the 20m £5500 wind up pole!

If that`s  carbon at that length there`s no way it will be heavy.

I did mention the wind up pole on Aquatec forum about 5 months back, but I never stated the companies name because I was thinking of getting involved in designing with olympia. If they had gone through with it I was going to ask you Jeff to help test prototypes as I didnt have any wfp experience but I wasnt going to let them know that. I explained in detail to olympia about wfp, and that this was an opportunity for them to enter the market and I would help them with the design. They said maybe but then said no, I dont know why but perhaps they didnt realise the money that could be made! Luke

I think thast 3kg for a small pole is too heavy as in overengineered as you said Luke.
Bit of old background. Originally the  MOD approached Excel industries to design them a light radio mast for use on Landrovers and in tanks and the telescopic carbon fibre pole was born. Ionics got the UK rights.

Yes, Excel supplied ones, I tried ask about  importing  them 5 years ago and was directed back to Ionics.

Fishing poles are on the free market  can never be capitalised by any one supplier.
