Hi guys

I have been thinking of buying one of these for some times, and I am not so sure if it will pay for itself in the first six months or not, you see I haven’t seen that many people have their gutters clean on a regular bases, I think maximum would be once every year, that’s if they do that at all.
So I am just wondering for those of you that have purchased  this vacuum cleaner, how do you find it?
Do you get a lot of inquire about this kind of job?

I have not got one but I would of thought that if the rubbish is loose in the gutter it would be ok. But if its compact you could have trouble breaking it down to vac up .
But as I say I dont have one

w is that how many customers can this machine attract.

Just to warn you, our window cleaner used one of these once on my old house and it damaged the guttering as it got stuck to the nozzle - that was proper heavy metal guttering and cost them a pretty penny to replace too.

They look good, just make sure you don't mess up poorly made guttering as the custy will hold you responsible.

I've heard some fairly bad reports about the gutter vacs. They don't cope well with large clumps of solid matter,.. which are quite common in this part of the world. I think after the first clean,.. if you are going back every 3 months you should be fine,.. any longer than that and you'll be having problems.
A powerwasher with a long lance and a gutter attachment will cost a fraction of the price, will blast away the solid matter, and can be used for many other jobs.

The difficulty with these sort of services is getting the customers. There may be enough business out there but getting your advert under their noses in a cost effective way has proved to be the stumbling block.  How and where do you intend to advertise?

I've purchased this soley for doing commercial work as by contract basis. They take a contract out with me, have already got 3 customers x £750 per year.

Then also push for a Council contract as they charge £70 per house, detached !!!

If it works then this should earn me more money than window cleaning per hour.

You cannot knock it until you have tried, there is nothing out there that offers this services so jumping in first before everyone else jumps on the band wagon.

the 3x =£750 a year how many cleans per year ?

2 cleans one beginning of summer, May, the other when the leaves fall Oct.
