hi,i was just wondering how often do you have to change your brush,i have had an ionics brush for 4 weeks and it already looks rough,thanks

I would imagine that most are out at work using their brushes at this time!

The Ionics brushes have a reputation for the bristles losing shape fairly quickly although  they should stay workable for a long time after this happens.

No doubt those with more experience of them will post later on.

I have a number of brushes...

Vikan flagged oval - August 06 used as rough brush.
Vikan flagged oval - Dec 06 daily use.
Vikan flagged oval - March 07 daily use.

Vikan monofiliment oblong - March 07 daily use ..l

At the rate the above brushes are wearing, I would imagine that this time next year they will still be do'in their thang 

I have not used any other brushes other than these so would not be able to comment on them.

I have used the same vikan oval over at least 12 months and its worn well I decided to try the rectangular mono filament and that was ok too.

Both types lasted for months without any horrendous wear.
A friend of mine had a vikan the same time as me and managed to kill all the bristles so it looked like a knackered toothbrush in the same time.
Maybe I dont scrub as hard as others or I just avoid the brick work better than others.

I am now just trying cleantechs rectangular yellow brush which so far is brilliant and Im fast being weaned off vikan. Nice weight good cleaning top finnish!

Are they the crinkley ionics brushes or the straight bristled ones?

Ive used the older straight bristled ones and to be honest, the're rubbish. I'm not a fan of the vikan, but its loads better than  the ionics and lasts for ages. I would get one soon. However, if its the new ionics brush you have, then it seems as bad and I would bin that too, but it sounds like you have the old one.

its a crinkly ionics so it must be the new one,i think ill get a rectangle vikan as well to see what its like sounds like ionics arent great-thanks for the help

My brushes are the superlite ones, cheap, cheerful, extremely light and last about 3 or 4 months before the bristles start to come out.

They hold their shape well in use too.

I've also used the Salmon brushes, found them fine too, but think the bristles (at least on the ones I had) are too short.
They are more robust than the superlite, but are also heavier and it's easier to damage window frames with the plastic brush head too.

I used a vikan oval for about a year and found it a good brush
The last 5 months have been using a vikan rectangular and find that it is better as the shape of it allows you to get right into the corners
A month ago i got a cleantech rectangular and it is very light and soft but maybe a little too soft but still a good brush
