Alex / Jeff shurflow / varistream update
« on: August 02, 2007, 11:34:00 am »
I have just had a new pump and varistream fitted  in my van.
I came to use it and water is leaking from the bottom of the pump ( the black plastic bit )
I have tightened up the screws but its still leaking water. Both are new, has anyone had this problem .

Just had another look and its leaking from the black bit with 3 screws underneath the inlet / outlet fitting

John sounds like the seal isn't seated properly between the pump case and the pump head.

Sounds like you will have to send it back.

Sounds like either a split diaphragm or as Jeff1 said an incorrectly assembled pump. My guess would be a split diaphragm. Either way it will need to go back.

After having another look at it , the water seems to be coming from the black bit of plastic with 3 screws underneath the inlet / outlet  fittings

You need to take off the pressure switch and re-seat the spring, there is a little round peice of black plastic that goes on top of the spring, when fitted properly this round black button like peice of plastic should move up and down smoothly.

You need to undo the 3 screws on the pressure switch 3x cross head screws, pull the bottom off and then put back together making sure it`s assembled with everything in place. If somethings loose it will leek.

Make sure you disconnect the pressure switch with the varistream,it`s not required that`s why i love it.

John, you shouldn't have to worry about it, let the supplier worry about it while the new pump is on it's way to you.
