Turtle wax Bumper Polish (Black)
« on: September 18, 2004, 08:32:27 pm »
Hi guys,

Went to a job today where he had spilt almost a whole bottle of black bumper restorer on the carpet in hall.

He rang on Tuesday but today was earliest I could get there.
He e- mailed Turtle Wax who replied it was unlikely anyone could remove it.

Tried White spirit, Prochem High Force And Sol.Nr3 as a starter on different bits.

White spirit worked best as I thought it would but it was still pretty black.

Put Dry Blend in tank and heated to 75.

Treated with white spirit agitated then sprayed with Sol 3 and Hi Force in different areas..

Extracted  with Dry Blend.

It worked after several repeats the carpet was clean ;D

Both Hi Force and Sol3 worked equally well.

Cheers,

Doug

Well done you!
You deserve to get plenty of recommendation from that one.

Doug,

I would have thought that Eco Spotter (alcohol-based) would have worked well on this, with remnants of pigment treated with Ultrapac Renovate.

Regardless, your method worked, so well done - but I still hate the stench of white spirit!
