backpacks & back gardens ?
« on: May 21, 2007, 09:15:51 pm »
hi ,
i already have a van mounted ionics wfp system but was thinking of getting a backpack for my lads to use on domestic houses.

How do you go on where backgardens are concerned , as if gates are locked we go over by splitting the ladders.

Can anyone recommend any please.

If the gate is locked ask the customer for a key , if they wont give you one ask them to find a window cleaner who likes climbing over gates, i had loads of these when i first changed over i now have none as the ones that didnt give me a key got dumped, tell any new customers the same or or your not interested in the clean, works great for me  ;)

thats the one I got and it works a treat, I either have keys or a few gates a month I scramble over, probably less dangerous than splitting a ladder.  I went on a diet before wfp so I'm nice and nimble.

Now there speaks a man after my own heart   :) .  I do it just like you- no access, no clean.
I might phone up in advance if the job is large enough and very profitable but apart from that, I want unrestricted access.  It's meant me turning a lot of work away over the years but I'm not prepared to take on work that slows me down.  I even dumped existing customers when they've upgraded their security and wouldn't supply a gate key.  It's a really odd thing.  I can be going somewhere for years and they won't trust me but I can start a new job and they might offer a gate key without me even having to ask.

I have a key or two as well. A few of my custy's have combination padlocks and I have the code.

If a job was worthwhile then I would offer to buy a combination padlock for them to use - if that's not good enough then bye bye!
It's a game of three halves!

sorry i didnt explain it correctly ,

i clean big houses aswell as small houses , but it is terraced houses i prefer.

i fly down the fronts (no gardens) but its the backs im questioning..

although the terraces are fast money.
