I'm insured with the NFU.
Some years ago, a carpet shrunk on me. Not usually a problem, but the gripper dammaged part of the carpet which I could not fix. So I made a claim as the carpet was rather expensive.
The loss adjuster got back to me and said, their not going to cover you, due to wording in the policy.
He said this was totally wrong and they should have insured you.
To cut a long story short, I sent them a long letter pointing out that the policy said,
insured for property worked upon. I also pointed out that I had been mis-sold the policy and that many other tradesmen with the same policy may be worried that they wern't now insured and I may have to seek legal advice.
I got a letter back saying...it's ok, we will cover you :

This policy has a no claims bonus, so the payments reduce every year. The payment have kept reducing every year since, and I never heard from them again....it's like I never made a claim?
So look at your policy carefully and if they don't want to pay, give em sh*t!
