Any Benevolent CC's out there
« on: September 09, 2004, 06:03:38 pm »
Hi to all,

Would any of you be prepared to show a prospective new 'CC' the ropes for a day or two, so that I can see the business first hand?  I'm more than happy to muck in, and be someones 'gofer'.

Preferably someone who does mainly Domestic with portable HWE as that's where I think I would start.

I live in Milton Keynes, (someone has to!!) and am prepared to travel a bit, although the nearer to home the better.  I feel there is room for me in MK, what with planned expansion over the next few years.  All being well I would hope to be able to offer a professional (not splash 'n' dash) service (in time).

Hoping to attend the NCCA course in November but I would like a 'taster' of the business first.

Any offers of help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Hi Big Fish,

No I don't have any equipment or anything yet.  I have transport.  Amongst other things, I've been looking through previous posts to learn as much as I can, but thought it was about time I got off my A. . . and did something positive, hence my post.

Hi Martin,

You would be welcome in Reading,  but I doubt you would wish to travel that far.

Hi I am in exactly the same position, changing from Windows to Carpets.

Booked on a course in Bradford but would love to assist experienced C.C around Gtr Manchester.

No wish to be "splash & dash" either.

Any nice guys in this area need a hand?

P.S.  On the Window Cleaning board there is a"where in the U.K are we all?" section  Huge response.

Is there anything similar on the carpet forum?  It is interesting to know if people are close without looking at every profile.

Hi all,

Thanks a lot to Big Fish and Bryan H for your offers of help.  :)

Big Fish

I will Pm you my number.

Bryan H

Don't mind Reading, no problem, I will PM you too.

When I said Preferably nearer to MK, I meant that i would rather not travel to the north of Scotland (although I would, if that was the only offer) nothing against you Scots either, my mum-in-law is from Grantown-on-Spey (beautiful part of the world).

As I said at the start of this thread, I have learned a lot from these forums, and I can only thank all of you that contribute to this and the other Forums.  Thanks to all of you, I think I now have a rough idea as to type of machine/system/marketing strategy etc.  At the end of the day though (don't you just hate it when people say that!!) there is no substitute for actually seeing all these things put into practice by one of you guys doing it every day.

I would hope, that in time, I can be like one of you guys, able to help out, give advice, and be on friendly terms with other CC's in my area.  I'm certainly not in the game of undercutting and pinching anyone else's customers.  I think that for every person that gets their Carpets cleaned, (and I stand to be corrected) there must be countless others (from all Socio'/Economic groups that don't) and my marketing, though very similar to most of you, will have a slightly different 'slant', to try and get this custom.  But hey, i can't run before I can walk.
