I've been invited to give a quote for an initial clean of the upstairs only windows of a new Local Authority estate by the cleaning sub-contractor. There are three house types which have the following windows:

House type 1 window details:
3 no. 2ft x 3ft
1no. 3'x4'
2no. 4'x3'

House type 2 window details:
1no. 3ft x 1ft
1 no. 3ftx 3ft
2 no. 3' x 2'

House type 3 window details:
1 no. 4ft x 3ft
1 no. 2' x 3'
1 no. 1.5 ' x 3'
2 no. 3'x 2'

There are thirty six units in total and the site labourers have had a go at about half of them (and scratched the glass in the process) and removed most of the debris and frame stickers but the other half are horrendous - cement splashes, debris  in the frame opening,frame stickers etc which all have to be removed. I therefore have the following questions:

How much should I charge for each house type - ones already initially cleaned and ones not?

How should I address the scratched glass issue?

Should I hire an industrial vac to clear the frame openings out?

How can I ensure that I will actually get paid? SHould I draw up a contarct? If so, suggested wording please.

dont bother you will be accused of scratching the glass thats why they asked you to do it in my experience WALK AWAY

I do a lot of builders cleans and they are hard work but can be good earners if you are willing to wait up to several months for your money.

How much should I charge for each house type - ones already initially cleaned and ones not?

Work out how long its going to take to do the job and price it on what you want to earn.

How should I address the scratched glass issue?

What i do before i clean any property is walk round and and make a note of the condition of the windows and give this to the site foreman/Agent

That way i get no problems.

No forget that just wipe it out with a damp cloth.

Just print up what job you are doing and the date, who for and get them to sign it once the job is complete.
I have never had to do this myself.
You will get paid but not to quick in my experience.

I do loads of biulders cleans for laings and wimpey homes windows on some sites are so bad cement render you name it. i started it when  first started the business to keep me head above water i still do a fair amount for them but as my own domestic/com work has taken off i dont do as much as it is hard work but it can pay well..
