Hi there
Post this question in the carpet cleaning section and you will get a response. I reckon that it will not be real suede as these sofas are big bucks. A faux suede is more likely and this can be cleaned using HWE methods. We did one on Monday and it looked the bees knees. Just check with the owner of the suite, if he paid £300.00 from DFS you know its not real.

It is deffo real deal, £1500 for a 2 seater, no DFS jobbie. To tell the truth a normally avoid this stuff like the plague but my little bro has bought a suede sofa and wants me to clean it.

If it is real suede you can only clean it with nubuck cloths. Wrap tightly around a sponge in a cylinder shape, draw across the leather gently in all directions.

Very tricky these.  Wet cleaning not recommended at all and solvent cleaning will not work very effectively.

You will need as Matt says nubuck cloths and a suede brush.  Use the suede brush to lift the fibres and the nubuck cloth to do the cleaning.  It is very hard work.  If you have a suede suite you should always use a good suede protector (Waterstop is a good one) on a very regular basis (especially on a pale colour) and this will go a long way to making it easier to clean.

As has also been said it is most important to check that it is the real thing as there are very many good imitations around even at the price you have quoted.  Real suede is still quite rare.  Nubuck is a little more common.

Hope this helps.
