i think the berlingo only has a 600kg payload, the doblo has 730kg. dont know much about the berlingo but have been researching a bit on the doblo & it looks like a great wee van. motorpoint have the SX model for 6.5k + vat. thats a bargain!!!

I just tried it again. I think its because the site as restricted the file size to 1000kb.

I dont know how to reduce the size. Any Ideas?

The Fiat is narrower than the Berlingo and the distance between the wheel arch gap is less.

I got a new Doblo on a 4yr lease from vansdirect in Nov 2006 (1.3SX with side doors and full metal bulkhead) go on their website and compare dimensions of various vans.

I have a 400L tank, a reel of microbore on top the tank (not enough room to go behind the tank) modular pole to one side carried diagonally. My backpack is by one of the side doors.

It has a mpg computer and with stop start driving I get a consistent 43/44mpg. On a steady run it's 50mpg. I think it's low road tax too due to small efficient engine (the disc says £113.50 for 12 months) although the first year was included in the price.

730kg payload including driver and fuel is fine for 400L, but any less than 700kg is pushing the limit IMO.

A warning about speed limits:-

A van with a gvw of over 2000kg is subject to lower speed limits as follows

Motorway same as car
70mph Dual Carriageway - limited to 60
60mph single carriageway - limited to 50

The 1.3SX is 2000kg mvw so is OK
The 1.9SX is 2020kg so isn't! So if you get one watch out for enthusiastic plod. (or if a speed camera gets you at 70 in a 60 limit then you may be done for being 70 in a 50!)
It's a game of three halves!

i have a pug partner, same as berlingo...i think lol

theres 2 types, one has a 600kg payload and the other a 800, mine is the 800 and its a great van

i have never had a problem with it, i have a 400 litre tank in there, and all me other bits, and it pulls it never with any problems, you harldy notice the weight you have in there to be honest

my 24ft pole fits straight in with no problem, not diagonally, straight in, and i could get much bigger on there to!

go with the berlingo mate, i have the 1.9 diesel, great on fuel even with the weight!

lwc is correct, you can get a 800kg version of the berlingo/partner as you can also with the renault kangoo. this may widen your choice although the 800kg models are a wee bit more expensive to buy/lease. personaly i dont think you can knock the doblo 1.3 multijet.
Malc, the tax is cheap, my kangoo 1.9d is 93 quid for 6 months!

Wow I got one photo on to the site. Here comes the rest hopefully. Its a 400 ltr flat tank, I had the frame made out of stainless steel and the company fitted it in the van for me. It was made to measure.

The hose reel is fitted to a folded piece of stainless steel. Its very strong. You dont have to bend your back when reeling in. All the thread lugs were welded on and the battery box is in stainless steel. All the corners are welded shut so no plastic spacers used.
