Just checking out the credentials of a recruitment firm in leicester, got to give a quote this PM.
Noticed on their website  it's got a few pages in Polish,
this firm recruits for the Building Industry,Facilities management etc. I find it threatening to all of us.

How's a decent law abiding man suppose to get on these days and think he his secure in his profession until retirement, I feel worried for the future.

It's called competition. You can't do much about it other than to have a different attitude.

Where have you been for the last 20 years. Women have the vote and Russia is our friend (on and off)

Latest news is FYI - women will be commentating on live football and the police are trying to get the law changed so they can recuit only the second rate people and not get prosecuted like the rest of us for descrimination. 

Oh and you can also emmigrate to other countries in the EU if the UK is that bad.

It's called cheap labour, it's called a drop in wages for tradesmen here,that means you  & me. Mike you sound to me that your probably well established and set up in your business? and that retirement is sorted for you? well I am only 8 months into this business and I've got 30 yrs left to work.
I don't see it as "Competition" I see it as that I've paid more taxes into this country than any immigrants over here!
To have better Health Facilities,Education System,Police Force etc,etc; I've served in the Army for 8yrs and the Prison service for 7yrs, I now want to work hard for my family in my business and better mine and my Familys life.

It is not a prosperous future for the "Average Layman; So yes go on and sit down and keep taking it and it will come back and bite you on the arse.

You will be fine. It's pretty scary to go from employed to self employed, but if you have worked for 'institutions' I think its doubly hard.

Our egos are very good at protecting us from our shortcomings, blaming is easier than admitting it was our fault when things go wrong or we don't do what we know we could do. Don't get bogged down in that way of thinking.

The fact is CC has always been competitive as you don't need degrees, licences or fifty grand to start up. I don't think it will make much deference except you may have people to deliver your leaflets for 50p an hour.

Work on the things you have control over, not worrying about turning the tide.

I take on board what you said Mike and I totally agree on just look out for yourself & Familys welfare and forget about the other problems, but I'm just not programmed that way and as a consequence in my last job as a Prison Officer, my health was  affected, so I had to resign.
I just can't keep my mouth shut and eyes closed, I find it impossible, but will try.

I'm sorry if this sounds as if I'm talking down to you fletch, but it based on experience.

It would'nt make any difference if you were an electrician, plumber, chiropidist, shopkeeper, big or small, there will always be someone else out there trying to win business.

I imagine you have tried to find out what your competition charge to see what you should be charging to take a market share from them.

However, in any business the first year is going to be very tough which is why there is a lot of nearly new kit on the market.  You have got to prove to the customers that you can offer something that will generate recommendations and repeat business.

The upside is that when you feel things are going well you can feel satisfaction that you have done it yourself and dont have to answer to the man.

Believe Tesco’s use an agency in Poland to recruit staff to work over here, they also find them accommodation. Think that may tell you something.

Know a couple of Spanish cc and hard floor cleaners who are totally peeved with the British due to prices.

I hate it when a commercial beats me down ok £50 but they will now supply staff to remove all furniture.

Scroungers another thing!
