I have had smaller batches, not sure on the costs I will look through my accounts for the last couple of years to see if I can find it. The flyer though I designed myself and then sent them the file.

Guys, i am a graphic designer by trade, (am starting a window cleaning business too) and i think you need to keep it simple and also not too proffesional looking!! You may be thinking "whats he talking about" but trust me, domestic customers in their home favour upon family type traditional workers, it instills trust into them. So if you make yourself look like a local family type setup, this will favour better with the customers. Don't forget they get all the glossy imagery leaflets everyday and just bin them thinking they are rubbish.

Just my opinion, from a designers perspective as we do this type of thing for clients.

Oh and if anyone wants any help with leaflet design, drop me an email

I'll stick with my own design and save myself £35.  ;D Thanks for the offer though.

Perhaps some of the other should start charging for info on wfp. ;D

I disagree with MHall, my flyer was produced in Jan of this year, I have so far distributed about 10,000 of the 20,000 produced on the initial run, the annual return on investment so far is way in excess of what I would have expected from a standard A5 flyer.

Everyone that sees it says it looks very professional, therefore we are percieved as a professional company and it opens a lot more doors to the higher end market.

If you go in with a cheap single colour flyer on 80g A5 paper, what does that say about your company?

I liked your flyer Lionheart, that picture of a doctors stethescope was very clever. Subliminaly inspiring trust by showing you as a knowledgeable authority figure.

Only joking. They've only just let me back on.

Lionheart, if you read my post, you will see i mention that domestic customers appriciate this approach/image. However you are quite correct in saying the higher end of the market - commercial work for example will require proffesional looking literature.

I do design work for some massive brands i.e Coca Cola, Budweiser, Stella Artios, Nestle, Gillette. All of which require the utmost proffesional cutting edge design. But for my flyers i will definatly have two lots, one for the commercial market and one for the domestic market.

Don't get me wrong, the domestic customers who don't throw your leaflet away thinking its just another crappy gas/loans/insurance flyer, will really appriciate the proffesional information/approach. Its just the initail stage of getting the potential customer to read it thats tricky.... Think of it this way.. if a glossy leaflet & a handwritten note came in the post, you would definatly read the hand written note but would most likely throw the leaflet away... this is because its more personal to the customer

Business cards are good as you don't really get these come through the post as junk mail, so these will have a better chance of being read.

Just an insight into the way us marketing guys work in getting people to adknowledge what your talking about.

You will get more conversions if you follow up and follow through.
Knock on the doors you delivered the flyers to within 3 days and ask them one question. Questions usually get answers.
Did you get the information about my cleaning service ?
