Iv been thinking of window cleaning for a bit. Iv been looking at the law with ladders cause i dont want to get a wfp just in case it dont dont take off i was wondering if any of you could help. What would i have to do to use a ladder and will they stop us soon altogether from using ladders.

Peter,

Regardless of the regulations, there's still thousands-upon-thousands of window cleaners who use ladders as their primary means of access to clean windows at height; and no doubt will do so for years to come; whatever anyone says.

So I don't think you should be put off by the Regulations.

you can still use ladders and soap and water to clean windows.
the boys who make the wfp have been making a big noise about h&s over the past couple of years simply to ensure sales of their gear.
If you look carefully at the official h&s line on ladders things haven't really changed all that much.
I am about to change to wfp in the next few days, but only because i hope it will be better money, not because i can't use ladders.
Window cleaning is a great way to start a low budget business, It would be a shame if we were forced to use wfp's, people like me would never have started out because of the start up costs.
go for it, but do it safely ;)
if it is dirty it is fair game

Go for it but it is not as easy as people think up and down ladders all day is very demanding work but the rewards and fitness are worth it.Make sure you do it safely.

I agree with Tosh, he hit the nail on the head. Just get a ladder for now m8 see if its for you or not. Good luck mate
Dont argue with a retard, they will just pull you down to their level and beat you with experience.
