With my one i normally flush it every friday after work,i flush it about 4 or 5 times,it does not take that long to flush.

Leave the water supply on,close the waste tap and the pure tap,and open the valve on your flush tank so it fills up,when full,turn off water supply ,open the valve on top of the flush tank and the waste tap,this will then flush the membranes and lower your tds readings,it sounds harder than it is. hope this makes some sense to you.
