just trying out some new ideas and was having a look a the house sellers market, as we all know we get lots of work from it.

anyway checking out some estate agent web site. all very nice with photos, looking at these photos i could not belive how many top end home have wood or tile floors now. i would say it well over 50%

i just think that the other day,

i was out delievering on a new estate (10 years ish) and as put posted the leaflet through i started looking through the glass panel,  i realy started to get dishearted i saw that much hard flooring!, i would say 80% had hard floor in the hall! i could not see all the lounges but the ones i did was about 50% hard floor.

i think its taken more work from us than we know cus the only homes we see in is the ones with carpet.

someone told me theres a reverse in this tread around the corner, hope there right,

I was in a carpet retailers today and where they recently had massive stocks of laminate flooring, the showroom has been transformed and only has one tiny stand with laminate and acres of carpet sample books, on stands plus 20 isles of carpet roll.

Anyway..............they all still have .........Suites / Rugs / Bedrooms ( usually carpeted ) and Stairs/Landings.

i have a maid service and when we start for a new client the tiles in the shower areas and really bad. i was thinking you can get those hand spinner tools for extraction machines. maybe the foot in the door could be tile cleaning?

most homes would have carpets in bedrooms etc if not in the high trafic areas like halls and lounges

I do not think the situation is that bad.

I am in and out of homes on a daily basis selling another product and the majority have carpets in most rooms.

Agreed a lot of top end houses do have high quality wooden floors in some rooms.

I also come across a lot of Seagrass type carpeting in high end homes. Edited Forgot lots of tile and grout as John below has just mentioned

Leather Suites do appear to be on the increase

Hi all,
         I've been doing tile and grout cleaning for about 3 years now, people are buying them thinking that they are low maintenance but soon find out they are not as a mop doesn't remove dirt and grease from the grout lines, it's definately on the increase near me in the upmarket homes.

Tile and grout cleaning..no experience. Can you give me a brief outline of what's involved?

Stay away from shower cubicles.  It dosent clean as you think it should even with your spinner tools.

Also its not the case of spraying a prespray and using the spinner and hey presto white grout.  Tile cleaning takes a lot longer than carpets and can be hard to get the right money you want and the right result.

I know of a site in usa that has some intesting product for plastic baths and grout

i look it up.

Hi all,
        I  use t/m's for all the tile and grout cleaning along with an sx-12 for the largest areas and edges are done with a cobra hand tool(which you can use for walls also) but I've heard that it is possible to use a pressure washer(with solution pipe adapted to fit tools) along with a high performance carpet cleaning machine but you would probably have to empty it every 5 minutes! I invested in a few training dvd's from the states that give stacks of information regarding cleaning natural stone and man made types as well as grout types i.e. concrete, silicone and colouring and sealing. I do find the us cleaning products miles ahead of whats available here, but recently tried some solutions products for cleaning and sealing a natural sandstone and they worked great!
         don't worry about needing heat or buffing machines and pads  the only thing you need other than the chemicals is high pressure. only one thing I've found that cleans shower grout  well is detol mould and mildew remover!

wha would you say as far as min pressure?

Hi Ian,
           I would say minimum of 1000psi but if you used a pressure washer connected to a carpet cleaning machine you might have trouble if you don't have the option of varying the pressure? you might be blowing loose or broken grout out from between the tiles?especially if it's a 1750 psi model. I'm not sure but maybe they do variable pressure washers?
