You did make that up in an image manipulation program surely?  I can't see how that ladder fails to slip sideways unless it's tied at the top somehow.

Maybe the guy standing at the bottom (to the left behind the tree) is there to catch him. It defies laws of physics for him not to slip sideways.

He was up there 4 seconds too long. If he carries on like that it will be "was a window cleaner".

No the cone is for the residents next door so you cant park in their spaces

Like most window cleaners on a ladder the feet are stuck well into the grass and the top is on the sill but thats great it wont go no where will it !!!!!!!!!!

Ok.  No problem.  It's so clearly dangerous that I thought you were having a little humour.

As daft as it sounds this guy will probably be OK, its the ladder falling on someone else that is the problem.

I see, all the time, guys cleaning windows with one foot on the ladder and one foot on some dodgy porch roof, usually angled.  WTF is that about?  If they start to slip off the roof do they honestly think that having a foot 3ft away from it on a ladder is going to pull that weight back?   If anything the only thing it will do is stop them from being able to get their feet right and it will probably send them into the death spin you can get.   Golden rule is always 3 points contact, but a silver rule should be to have both feet on the same surface.  One foot going down and the other staying where it is isn't what your after.

You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind.

Chaps as much as we say how bad things are, its not going to change any time soon, as long as I ladder can be used for window cleaning!

Wrong, from the spring they are going to start enforcing H&S on ladders.

Great picture. A question to the moderator can we start an archive of pictures like that? I'm sure others have some to share.
About five years ago I saw a bloke cleaning the windows on a block of flats very much like those in the picture. The attic flats had little dormer windows set in the roof and he was getting off his long whippy unsecured aliminium ladder, walking up the tiles to do the windows then walking backwards down the roof and trying to hook the ladder with his foot. I wish I'd had a camera. I nearly had a funny turn just watching him, In the end I couldn't stand it anymore and had to drive off.

He's probablly securely tied around the waist, to one of the near by satalite dishes, failing that he has a large scrim that can be utilized as a parachute, if that failed to open, I see the car is parked near-by, to rush the said wc to the nearest hospital or cemetry.  so I don't know what all the fuss is about ;D
How do we know he's not a stuntman, on set for new James Bond movie, you only fall once mr Bond  ::)

I expect most of us have done that sort of thing at some point.

Get on with your boring lives and stop taking any notice of what others do. ::)
