sorry to go off topic for those who dont know
"craig murray" he was a small time actor that was pretty famous localy in dumbartonshire who left acting to simplify his life , he gave an interview in the local paper on how money was not important to him he simply wanted to make a living and feel like he had worked for it and he enjoyed working out side.
i have respect for the guy even though he is a bit excentric he is known localy to everyone

Got asked to clean this bad boy of a conservatory! ;D
Not sure wot to price, still umin an arrin cos the glass is like paper....
Wot u guys think?
Any 1 hazard a guess on a quote? :-\

Before I would even consider the price I would get my steps out and thoroughly check the glass.

You may find the job will cost you more in replacing glass panes and leaks etc... than its worth.

Thats the trouble with these old conservatories, very elegant by very unstable.

Tread with caution??

I'd charge 80 quid if its a regular job, 3 or 4 times that if it's a one off and covered in moss and stuff- in which case  I'd rather avoid it altogether though!

Don't worry about having to pay for replacement panes - get the customer to sign a disclaimer first - you can't be responsible for the delapidated condition of the conservatory, if they want it cleaned they must take the risk.

Some years ago I was asked to quote to clean a job where the majority of the glass was over a pitched roof.  The pitch was gentle enough not to make it dangerous to walk on, but the tiles were old clay ones, and many of them were cracked already.  I told the owner that I wouldn't be responsible for any breakages as the only way to get at them (this was pre WFP) was to walk on the roof.  He wouldn't accept that, saying that if I broke any, I should pay.

I didn't do the job >:(

Cheers,

Ian

i would charge 120 to 150 and take all day if i had to. i certainly wouldn't rush a delicate job like that. ;)
