I ordered some minibore hose last week and it came yesterday.
As the weather is crap today i changed my tricloflex for the mini bore.
I got 100mtrs on a metal hose reel.

Tried it out on my house.
The flow is perfect better than you get from microbore on a 60 psi pump and its so light compared to the tricloflex i was using.
I pulled it around my car and it did not snag on the wheels.

Im glad i changed over and now i have 100mtrs on my reel instead of 50 mtrs.
So that will mean my trolley spend more time in the van as it won't need it as much as the hose will now reach more places.

But only time will tell when i use it daily if i really like it.

Right mr stupid here whats is the difference between minibore and microbore?

2mm microbore is 6mm minibore is 8mm.
And those 2 mm makes all the differance to the flow.

But i would have thought that if microbore has a smaller outlet the pressure would be better as more water is being forced through a smaller hole?

Microbore reduces the flow more than minibore or standard size hose.

The bigger the hose the better the flow

I thought exactly the same as you before i got microbore.
I thought it would fly out but it doesn't the flow is less.

I think it may have something to do with the pumps probably working harder to squeeze the water down a narrower hose.

Maybe someone else who knows more than me about it can say.

So have you used microbore ? and is the minibore better if so why? ive used microbore for 10 months better than the old 1/2inch but starting to bleed now

Yes i have got some microbore in fact i now have the lot standard hose, tricloflex, microbore and now minibore.
The wife said when i ordered this what do you want more hose for as you have 3 lots already.

For me i use a 60psi pumps and i like quite a high flow of water especially for 1st cleans.
But with the microbore for me is was not quite a high enough flow.
Now i have the minibore the flow is better than what i was getting with microbore.
And its cheaper than upgrading 3 pumps to 100psi.

I suppose if you had 100psi pumps you would not notice much differance as this would give you more than adequate flow on microbore.

And its nice and light like the microbore.
How long though it will last only time will tell.

well i have microbore and a 60psi with varistream but i made the brush head holes smaller to 2mm now it comes out like a hydrant

Am I right in thinking guys that the minibore and microbore have the same outer diameter. :
If this is the case then surely  the minibore will be a lot weaker than microbore as the actual material will need to be thinner.

No minibore outside diameter is slightly larger but you wouldn't notice unless you put the two side by side.

Seriously thinking about getting some as Im fed up with my tricloflex getting caught up on anything higher than a millimeter.
And its heavy.
By the way how do you fit the minibore onto the hose reel as mine has fitting for standard hose.Is there some sort of adapter or reducer.

Hi Pete

Its so much better than tricloflex and so much lighter.

You need an inline bore adapter 8mm - 1/2"

You then have a space piece of 1/2 hose about 2" and connect that to your hose reel then use the inline bore adapter to connect the 1/2 hose to the minibore.

Been using 6mm Microbore with 2mm jets for a while now and think it's brilliant.

Can't remember the last time i got the hose snagged up.

With a 100psi pump behind it, i got a good hard jets from the brushes.

I don't get this one. If you use a Varistream, you disable the pressure switch. If you then turn the control up, you will get a hell of a lot more pressure than the original 60psi.
It's the coiling of the hose that slows down the pressure with micro bore. You try pulling all the hose off the reel and  see how much more flow you get.
If you think of a helter skeltor, you would come down a hell of a lot faster if it wasn't for the bends. This affect becomes less as you increase the hose diameter.
Even water is governed by the forces of friction, This friction can build up a back pressure that will be sensed by Varistream, or pressure switch.
I only have 25 metres of micro bore on my trolley reel, but if I turn the Varistream up to boost it will cut off the flow. I could readjust the inner dial of the Varistream. If I do this it causes the connectors to leak. Dai

Yes its the minibore from cleantech.
The connectors i got were from gardiners they are the pro fittings.
I use these because if i use a differant sized hose for whatever reason i dont have to use differant fittings as all the pro fittings fit into the same sized hosetail.
