Craig

As I said previously...It Doesnt make any difference to the public...They only assume that you know what you are doing..They prob dont know or care what it is...as long as the price is right......I'm not trying to belittle any organisation or anyones qualifications, just simply stating a blatant fact.

If you tell a potential customer,  that you're bla bla bla qualified and bla bla bla trained, theyre more likely to say...."whatever.....how much". ::)

However, by the same token,  it is good to know what you are doing.

the prochem course is a product sales course for Prochem.

I would disagree with that.

Whilst they do recommend their own products it is a really good basic course.

If you are in South West you could do a course at Hydro Master or Solutions I believe they are both in Cornwall.

Why not fit a Powerbrush or a Rotovac.

A powerbrush from Ashbys about £600 Rotovac £1800 there are other makes.

You could Agitate More a lot of people have used Sebo Duo available from Express Cleaning Supplies, and other suppliers.  About £225

All prices plus VAT  lease terms are available on Rotovac.

i understand what people mean when they say the public have never heard of the NCCA. However ive had plenty of jobs from people who search the internet and find the NCCA site then find me..ive also had jobs from customers who have asked the manufacturer of their carpet to reccommend a cleaner and were told to use an NCCA member. Maybe its cos im the only member in two counties (carmarthenshire and swansea) but i have done well from being a member. when people phone for a quote i try to sell them the NCCA line and ask them to look at the NCCA website before i turn up for a survey..this has helped too. I cant remember how much membership is a year but i have well made my money back.
cheers

IICRC is an American based organisation and is a Certifcation Board not a Trade Association...the NCCA own shares in this organisation as do twenty odd other Trade Associations around the World....although they have an office here in the UK IICRC are not well known generally at this time.

The NCCA are currently working on a PAS (Publically Available Specification) together with the BSI (British Standards Institute)...This hopefully will be ready and published in the spring of 2007. If it is successful then it may well be upgraded into a full British Standard at some point.
This PAS will be available to anyone and Trading Standards have indicated that they are interested at getting involved at the Review Board stage. It will be targeted at Manufacturers, Retailers, Insurance Companies and of course all the Trading Standards offices in the UK.

NCCA members will have already read about this initiative in their magazine 'Newslink'.
