Whoops
« on: December 18, 2006, 03:20:50 pm »

Had out firsy call back from a customer with a problem, its seems while cleaning my father left a cushion against a radiator and now the pile seems to have set in a diferent direction to the rest ( no discolouration ) going back to ty an sort on saturday, any advise?

p.s Its an old G-Plan suite cotton veklvet.

Should i saturate the area with hot water and manipulate the fibres back then dry with a hairdryer? would this work?

regards

Dene

If its only one cushion I would take it away and have a go at it in private.

From what I have heard over the years, this will probably be permanent damage, sorry .

But you never know, nothing to lose, so take it away and try a few things on it ?

If the worst happens, remember, you are only liable for the " current value" of the item, you dont have to buy them a new suite !

Good luck , it always happens at Christmas time !

Use a prosteam with a metal tool head and groom the fibres with a boffin brush (long fine wire bristles). A prosteam (if you dont have one can usually be found in the hands of an old lady at your nearest charity shop) - used with great effect to take the creases out of clothes while still on hangers.  I'm surea £5 box of Cadbury's Roses should do the trick for a 2 minute session on the prosteam ;)
