High reach sprayer
« on: November 29, 2006, 05:00:44 pm »
Hi all

I am looking for a  way of applying brick acid to the apex of houses without using ladders or a cherry picker.

Basically I need to find a pump sprayer that has a long lance on it so that it can reach about 12 metres.

Anyone got any ideas????

Thanks

Andy

Hi

I am doing brick cleans for new build houses and have up until now done this soley using high pressure cold water with great results.
The main reason for using this method is because I want to stay away from acid due to the precautions and environmental issues etc, but I have now found an excellent product which is both eco friendly and is not dangerous to use around other people on site.

I need to be able to apply the solution to 3 storey buildings and right up to the apex of these properties.
I want to eliminate the need for ladders or access equipment and a sprayer with a really long reach would do this for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Andy

You could try Omnipole, they have the Coress powerpole, I have one which goes up to 7 metres, but for a 12 metre pole, if you are using your pressure washer, it would become a 2-man operation with the powerpole. You need to speak to Glyn Howard at Omnipole.
Here is link for the Coress www.coress.com/home.htm

Hi
Thanks for that.

I don't really want to use the pressure washer to apply the solution... a normal pump sprayer or pumped sprayer should do the trick... its just getting up there that is the problem at the moment.

I was unable to find a suitable lance to get to 6 metres (let alone 12 metres) so in the end I recently adapted a water fed pole to apply a detergent via a hand pump up garden spray which works really well using the existing brush head and jets.

I simple cut the trigger mechanism off the lance of a 5lt hozlock garden sprayer and cable tied it to the side of the butt on a water fed pole and then re-attached the pump up tank, its brill! The only additional cost was a micro bore socket to fit the hose tail from Gardiner about £9 so I could quickly separate the tank from the pole and hose.

I believe this would work much higher as there is loads of “oomph” at the brush head, in fact a bit too much I only have to tap the trigger a couple of times before it saturates the wall.

If you think this would be of any use to you, just let me know and I will get some pics of the set up to you.

Hi Andy

Just interested in this green chemical that you use, its work i would like to expand into & was thinking of using hot water pressure washer, but very expensive.

Hi Andy,
I don't use the pressure washer to apply an chemical I'm using either. I made a Surflow pump system to apply chems, have q/c connectors on trigger of the lance, so once chems are in place, change over to pressure washer to wash/rinse off.
