waterless car cleaning? gimmick or not?
« on: May 27, 2004, 10:08:04 pm »
i have no Axe to grind at all but just wondered if the waterless systems work. if the wax attaches to the dirt then how can it attach completely, as one side of the dirt particle is in contact with the paint and any movement will force it against the paintwork.
i would love for it to work as i don't like getting wet several times a day to clean customers cars and then have to dry the things off and then polish as well.
what sort of time frame are we looking at to apply and then remove and i assume that a lot of cloths are required. i turn down a lot of work cos there is no water supply and i cant be bothered to lug all the water there with the Genny as well. I'm just in the dark as the the physics of the thing

Hi

Like you, no ax to grind and I have no experience in car cleaning (and don't wish to get into it) however if someone told me they could polish a floor forever without using water I would laugh them out of here.

I am thinking that this may work on the same terms as spray burnishing - shout if I'm wrong guys - but at some point the whole lot of whatever you have laid to 'clean' (a subitute for hard graft) will only have to come off, it lays a coat over the dirt making everything look good.

Right or wrong waterless in my book is nothing but a gimmick.

Dont knock it till you try it. I thought what a gimmick and no way. But i brought some and did a yacht and was very happy so was the customer. I then tried it on my car and yes i was impressed i must say.

Why dont you buy some its only £5-£6 to give it ago, you then might like the idea and you could clean them cars where there is no water supply and earn more money.

Hi Guys

I am with justin on this one.

I have personally tried it and am amazed at the results.

So my advice is the same, try it first and then comment after.

Me too!

I have tried this stuff and its great. And if the state of the terry towels are anything to go by then I can guarantee it doesnt just lay a coat over the dirt it removes it.

I see a big future in this and intend to be a part of it. Dont take our word for it, give it a go yourself.

Guys

Have been interested in this concept and just as an experiment on my own car intend to order trial pack some time, and if successful might add car valets to my carpet cleaning business.

However bit confused because while doing desk top research. ( Ie contiplating my navel or is it tyre kicking  not sure)

I came across another company called I think Waterless Detailers operating from Milton Keynes who appear to have a network of Franchisses around the M25.

My point is there must be several sources for this type of product

thats the problem i now have.i have seen 3 companies who say there product is better than the others. im i little sceptical and i certainly dont want to buy 3 lots of product to try. this is why ive stuck to good quality shampoo, polish and hot water extraction so far

Hi Guys

I feel I can speak with a little authority on waterless as I have personally met gary and his partner, he came a long way to see me and to do a demo for me for a very prestigious site.

I am becoming an affiliate as i can see the tremendous profit and business concept of this latest technology.

I ordered the full sample pack at 53 quid and have used all the products they have from the car cleaner (cristal car) to insect remover, de-odourizer, and alloy wheel cleaner.

Their products are nothing short of amazing, i can see my car gleaming down the road!

I, like all of you guys have seen the other companies and like you guys dont like people slagging other people off just to sell their products.

If anybody does want to talk to gary at 01432 340789, please do mention me (martin scott)

I can only say that if you want to look at car valeting, these products are excellent, gary will give you all the help he can IF you are serious. I can see it as a serious add on to my business, when it is up and running (early july) anyone on this site is more than welcome to come and see me.

Good luck

Regards

Hi Folks
Interesting debate on waterless cleaning.  My name is Colin Jones and I run the Waterless Bike and Car Cleaning Co.  I have researched the many products available and decided to use the Crystal Car product range from Autobella.  I am an affiliate of the Waterless Car Cleaning company and have a vested interest in your comments.
Our company specialise in Harley Davidson valeting as well as the rest. There is no way that an inferior product or does it do what it says on the bottle could be used.   There is no way I could afford to use a product that damaged the paintwork or surfaces of a new or used Harley.  My business is growing and we are about to add more Harley dealerships as well as the referred private client work.  The product is very very good and will make the difference if used correctly.  Cleaning & maintaining cars is much easier once applied, and you can even wash them ( sorry Gary) if you need to.  It really makes washing time less, leaving that gloss finish.  Terry towels can be washed and re-used and last a long time.  Just think you can take those orders where there is no water.
If you have any questions or want some tips on using the products or if you want samples.
Have a look at our site www.waterlessbikeandcarcleaning.co.uk You can e mail me on colin@waterlessbikeandcarcleaning.co.uk (site new and under construction) alternatively colinfj@ntlworld.com or my mobile 07785-111326 :)

hi, i would really love to go into this waterless valeting, the thing is i could get better contracts withh this method,  dont quote me on thisbut what ive heard is i could get the contract to the benefit agency in my area if i did waterless, because the people who valet them now have to take their car down the road clean it there and bring it back,, because they want you to take away the waste water, (sounds silly but true).  they have 9 cars and do them every month, so thats a good earner.
what i want to know is it the bees knees or just a flash in the pan, and can i charge more for that service

best regards jonny
